Very deep Stefan my friend , but not a lot of use to a geezer in a wheelchair trying to enjoy some harmless fun - if people like nass got off their collective high horses and stopped trying to impress the rest of us with his " superior knowledge" and looked positively and sensibly at the problem , we would not be in this mire of uncertainty that we seem to be standing in.
As many have already stated - terrorism is not neccessarily inhabited by morons - but people like he seem to think it is - viz BA - no liquids,knives,sharp objects etc - but if you are in Business Class or whatever the super rich travel in - you get served "metal cutlery" with your meal & proper glasses for your Mumm or Cristal !!!!!!
Herd mentality ?? Uncivilised ?? Don`t expect too many Christmas cards from the forum buddy ( can I call you that ? ).
I know enough about English law and my "civil rights" to know that I am innocent until proven guilty in a court of law - or that`s what I thought until recently !!

Please do not patronise us with that argument either - we have more CCTV cameras in the UK than anywhere else in Europe and probably the world - and we are NOT safe !
We banned guns and shooting clubs - we are NOT safe !
We have speed cameras - we are NOT safe !

Just because many of us concur does not make it a herd mentality - we just happen to agree.

Finally,your experience of terrorism is commendable and I am sure that the whole of the Taliban and Al Quaeda thank you for promoting their cause and helping to reduce the majority of the UK population and the USA to nervous quivering wrecks and jumpy of anything which is "suspicious".

I`ve waited until page 5 because this is an interesting and obviously contentious topic , and apart from being feted like some sort of professional animal paparrazo many years ago at Chester Zoo with my Pentax Spotmatic 1000 and SMC Tak f4 400mm on a tripod - " keep away from the young ! man - he`s busy " - I have never had any problems with taking exterior shots. Having said that I always think twice about aiming the lens at anyone who might be considered a dodgy subject - small children,especially, and sunbathers or courting couples.
My main problem with this litiginous world of PC and suspicion of anything slightly different to our norm is that the " pervo " can quite happily engage in his dreams and perversions by sitting on a park bench or by using a long telephoto and a reasonable camera.Apparently now ( Telegraph 27-08-2010 ) you can by a miniature clip on video camera for the bike handlebars or mount on a jacket or hat.
As stated previously - why risk going out with an SLR and a bag of lenses ?
We watch the BBC News channel and most of the faces are pixilated ( no HG ! pixilated )along with number plates and anything that could be construed as blatant advertising.
I remember years ago Jerry Adams was banned from being heard speaking on the beeb - so they added a voiceover from an actor - imagine my disgust many years later when we found out it was almost the same as his own voice !!! Well that told him eh ?
I for one am getting tired of all this cr*p and really cannot see a: where it will end and b:what is the point and c: who is benefitting ?

Bet there are no jobsworths in Pakistan telling the world`s news media not to shoot pictures of children......................................
