Hi justgetoutandride,

180º clockwise or 180º counter clockwise? (just a joke!)

Best regards.

On reflection, I hope you weren't just after geometric patterns or I'm b******d! I never can seem to get the hang of these competition things...

I think I said patterns that made 'pleasing pictures'...

It doesn't have to be geometric, although obviously it can be. The idea is that the pattern observed by the photographer is what makes it a picture, so it is partly observation, partly composition, and partly execution. (Like most pictures then...lol)

To 'ThePup',

I believe that only one image is required for the competition. perhaps some clarification on that is in order?

As for what they are lacking, maybe contrast? Try darkening the shadows a bit.

Sorry, My bad!

(Is there a sticky thread somewhere with the rules that I missed?)

The Pup's comment about the rules set me thinking. Is the competition only meant for digital photographs? I just wondered because the discussion thread is in the digital section and not the general one.

It's only in the digital thread because someone started it there. There is no significance to that and all pictures from any analog or digital origin are welcome.

In one way though to actually appear on the forum at all, and image has had to become a digital one, so I never even thought to make a distinction. Very few rules keep life simple.

Hope that clears it up!
