BUT it's going to have to wait for a while
I can learn to use the camera as it is - the 18-55 lens should do me for quite a while.
Tried an *istD with the 18-55 on it - weightwise that's fine , I can tell the difference with the 50-200 so anything physically bigger than that is out .
I've time - but am open to suggestions

I'll agree about the taxes etc - I won't fly Glasgow to London any more because of them - I watch and grab a bargain train fare for those trips whenever possible

The only suggestion I can make [ and this has been made to me in all seriousness by someone resident in France ] in future get someone in the other country to book your flights for you .
By doing this my friend in France got a round trip France- Australia-France for a little over €700 !!!

Does it really matter what setting a person uses as long as they enjoy taking pictures and using their camera?
Common sense prevails

The K7 is the same --- brand new , but there you have had someone who was fortunate enough to be given one for a trial .
I'm prepared to take the risk - I have fairly small paws , I need a lightish camera and I'm prepared to work at it .
I'll never be a brilliant photographer - I want to enjoy my hobby and I will . As it is I normally am out , with my Kodak with me , as often as possible - even when just going into Town for shopping.

I'll experiment with the kit lens quite happily.
This coming year is a get-to-grips with it , find out what sort of things I really enjoy photographing and then look at lenses . I can't see me really buying anything else before the end of 2010 . Then I'll be looking for another Black Friday deal
