Hi, does anyone have any knowledge or experience with this lens and how it compares to the Pentax equivalent?
Any comments welcomed -Steve

Thanks for the reply. I do not have a DSLR so cannot comment.
When I put a F or FA lens (KAF mount) on my MZ7 with the camera set to Manual and the Aperture set manually, the Aperture information appears in the viewfinder. What I was trying to ascertain was whether it was possible to do this with a Prime KA mount lens. I know that it is not possible with a Zoom that has a variable maximum aperture, but what about with a Prime?

I have a number of Prime KA mount lenses, my question is this. Is it possible to modify the mount in some way, that will allow Aperture information to be displayed in the viewfinder when used with a KAF/KAF2 body ie MZ7 in Manual mode? Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Hi Matt thanks for the reply. On my MZ7 with a variety of Prime KA mount lenses the Aperture information only appears in the viewfinder when the lens is set to A. With the KAF mount lens (35-80) that came bundled with the camera I can put the camera into Manual and change Speed (via the select switch) and Aperture via the lens at the same time and still see full information in the viewfinder. What I wondered with my original question was whether I could mimic the KAF lens behaviour with a KA lens by possibly changing some of the contacts.
I know the camera already offers lots of options, I guess I am showing my age and hankering after old fashioned manual with modern viewfinder info
Thanks - Steve

Can someone tell me if the focussing screens of the ME, MES, MEF, MG, MV/MV1 or even the Super A, Program A are interchangeble?
Also does anyone know of a list that displays common parts for these cameras?
I was offered a 'clean' but broken MG, which I considered as a source of spares for my MES, Super A and Program A

Thanks - Steve

I too have setup a dual boot/hard drive 32 bit machine (XP and Vista) I agree Photoshop works fine on Vista the main problem I find is with USB peripherals ie Scanners, printers, card readers ect. The solution that has worked for all my kit to date is to point Vista to the windows/system32 directory of the XP hard drive, the XP drivers found there seem to work OK. Note that if you try to do this direct from a disk Vista will often fail to install the drivers because it is looking for a different installer.
Hope this helps - Steve
