Skipped by the strengths, dwelt on a supposed weakness, well at least the Canon was not recommended.

Agree with George, blue works best for me, the reflections are obtrusive.

Loads OK except for Black and White, which was much slower and also flashed up a link to Pets.

Agree with earlier comments, simple works best for me ie: thumbnails, no fades or music.

As far as protectiing your pictures goes, there are ways of disabling various browser options such as; Save, Print , Right click, that should stop the opportunist. For a more rigorous solution there is commercial software available that does all of the above, it will also encrypt the contents of the page.

It may not be lack of shelf space that is preventing Pentax gear from being displayed.
I don't know if the Pentax, Nikon or Canon have different policies, but if it were my shop I would expect a certain amount of 'demo' kit on sale or return.
It maybe and I repeat maybe, that Nikon and Canon offer better deals, otherwise why wouldn't I stock Pentax, provide more choice and almost certain increase my sales.

Showing my age here, maybe it is because they started in the area, but I purchased all my early Pentax gear from the original Jessops warehouse just outside of Leicester.
At the time (early 80's) it was seemed like a magical place to me (going all misty eyed), a bit like a Santa's grotto for big kids.
The building was split into 2 areas:
There was a well laid out shop area, where as I recall they had a demo version of just about every make and model going, as well as a vast range of lenses and accessories. They even had a mini studio area with some very tasty lighting kit, that you could use. I remember handling a ME Super, a Canon AE1, and an Olympus OM10. No contest really

Then there was the huge warehouse that was stacked from floor to ceiling with all the goodies. At that time most of their business was mail order and prices were very competitive, £127 for a ME Super, 1:1.7 50 mm lens, a ER case and 4 rolls of film.

The mistakes they have made since then are classic, but I have rambled on enough.

Very impressive, with great potential as a research tool either for work or leisure.
I don't know if there are future plans for a central repositories to upload images to, but I like the idea of being able to contribute to the 'world knowledge base' through my humble offerings.

I believe that SMC coatings are far more durable than you might think.

I once had a pair of spectacles with Pentax lens (totally brand loyal) that had a a reflection/glare reducing coating (not SMC I know). I used those glesses for over 5 years regularly, cleaning at least once a day, by breathing on the glass and wiping from the centre with a Pentax microfibre cloth. The coating was still there right till the end.

I find the same process works fine on my SMC lenses.

Thanks Brian

NTL regularly increased the speed of their packages as the technology allowed. Looks like Virgin aim to do the same.

With so many people living their lives through celebrities and reality TV its not really surprising to see Pentax way down the chart. Now if the CSI's or heaven help us a Big Brother contestent was seen using a Pentax then I would be betting on a Top Ten place at least.

In the end you have to ask yourself, do I keep this secluded beach to myself, content with my discovery or do I go back to the hotel, tell everyone about it, bask in the momentary popularity and face the prospect of fighting my way through orange and blacks towels on my next visit.

Popularity increases demand and hence prices. The K10D has by and large received good press. There is a feeling that it is underpriced my bet is that the next model will be much closer to equivalent Canikons in price.
