If the grips been on then after a seession it gets the battery gets recharged.
If the grip has not been attached then the camera battery is the one that gets recharged.
I find it easier to keep track of the state of charge

I only had 30 minutes so no time for serious composition
Most images were shot at high ISO, PP with Silkypix

I really have a thing about trees, their age and texture. After Lady Jane's execution Elizabeth the First ordered that the Oaks on the estate be topped

8 So much happening here sadly I failed to capture quite a lot (make a note to myself to go back with a wide angle prime)

9 The ruins of the old house. I was running out of time so this was shot from around 400yards It was built at the bottom of a hill and yes parts of it really do lean at an angle.

Claims a life of 80 years for Gloss and 100 for Matte.
I use 3rd party inks and paper, durability is not a concern since I can always reprint.
This obviously is more of an issue if you are selling your prints.

I put some files into a new folder let Lightroom import them and then immediately pasted more files into the same folder. Once again Lightroom imported them with no problem.
To be honest Instant View is not something that I would use much, so not so much of a problem for me.
Maybe a better featured version of PRA will be made available with the K20, fingers crossed it may even work with the K10

I find I can fire up to 6 shots singularly or continuously (no more than 5 second delay between shots) and Lightroom will auto import OK. I think this limit is a PRA issue.
After that it needs to be restarted. If there are still images in the target folder it will import them, but will not then auto import any new shots.
Lightroom online help mentions that the target folder should be initially empty empty. I wonder if Lightroom has a problem resetting the target folder flag when it moves images over to the destination folder.

1. Connect camera to PC
2. Start PRA
3. Set up folder to save images (this is for temporary storage)
4. Start up Lightroom
5. Enable Auto import from File menu
6. Point watch folder to that selected in step 3.
I can't seem to find an option to set how regularly Lightroom auto imports from the watched folder.
If I start Lightroom and shoot the first image is imported OK, but subsequent images are not.
If I shutdown and then restart Lightroom then all images are shown.

Without a Monitor/Keyboard/Mouse is your old PC consuming that much power?
Do you have options in the PC bios to shut down unused peripherals, ports or maybe even throttle back the processor?
Does FreeNas allow the machine to be woken up from a low power standby state?
A more modern processor based machine should be more efficient power wise but the cost is likely to rival that of a purpose built device.
