It is my understanding that the later series 'F 'flashes are only compatable with AF bodies.

If we are talking zooms then I would rather have the increased IQ of a three times zoom over the increase flexibility of a five times zoom , for that reason a DA* 135-400 F4 would in my view nicely compliment the range(DA* from 16 - 400).

I voted no , not because I would not like a range of modern AF primes, but more because I don't like the DAL concept.

I would rather have a metal mount and built in lens hood. I am not at all bothered by WR and SDM. A range of lenses based on the FA primes, but without the bells and whistles would appeal to me. For that I would pay £250 a lens.

Looking through some of the other lenses they did use the blue
paint for the FT markings so possibly Pentax made. The coatings
were different as well, but that probably applies to a few of the
other lenses as well. There was a plasticky Tamron 28-90mm around
that time that scored very high points in AP lens tests. I actually
bought one, but it wasn't exceptional.

Ricehigh did a review of the Pentax lens link
The 28-200 and the 28-105 MK2 version were Tamron designs dressed up in Pentax livery.

The 24-90 and 28-105 black MK3 version (also available in silver) are Pentax designs with at the time a new 'ghostless coating' and livery.

Good to hear Adobe are listening to users. They have just updated Camera Raw and recently updates to LR seem to follow quite quickly.

I am still using a K10, but but thought it of interest, hence the post.

FYI Adobe have updated Lightroom

Posted, which might be of interest to K5 owners. I found this in the readme notes under bug fixes.

A magenta color cast could have appeared on Nikon D7000 or Pentax K-5 images if the multi-exposure feature was used with raw capture.

The corner by the lock switch cracked. Superglued it... and it's just about working, but I'm not using it.

Currently using two of the Samsung tough 8Gb cards. Haven't done any speed comparisons, but they certainly feel better built than the Sandisk (IIRC, they claim 1.5ton car can drive over them, and you can put them in water for up to 24hr! :shock

I was wondering if I could claim my lifetime warranty on the broken Sandisk...

Matt
I had a problem with a Sandidsk Extreme a couple of years ago and thought the same. They asked me to return the card with original receipt by recorded delivery to an address in The Czech Republic. They said they would replace it, if it was found to be defective, but if they considered the problem was down to misuse or wear and tear, then I would have to pay the return postage.
Pretty standard stuff I suppose, but the cost of postage was pretty close to the cost of getting a new card, which is what I opted to do.

Lifetime warranties are pretty useless for low cost items, when return addresses are overseas

Another vote for the Samsung cards, I have three 4Gb cards and two 8Gb cards and they have proved to be very reliable. Amazon and Play.com often have them on offer, I think I only paid £5.99 for an 8Gb card earlier this year.

It may be an obvious question, but could the focusing ring have slipped a little? What is the closest the lens will focus to? I believe it should be 0.3m or 1 foot.

If it is out at the short end, then the ring may have slipped. The ring is only held in place by 3 screws which are accessible once the name plate ring is removed.

Loosen the screws by no more than half a turn, move the ring by around 3mm, retighten and then recheck. For wide angle lenses I find setting the focus at minimum distance more accurate, due to the large depth of field at infinity.

I recently purchased a lot of ten flash stands, I only need four so I am offering the other six to members of the forum.

The landed cost to me was £0.70 each, so I am offering them at that price, plus postage.

I will utilise previously used padded envelopes and post by first class post. I am not sure what the cost will be, but the charge to buyers will be at cost.

Terms of offer and sale

Limit of 2 per PU member

Contact via PM, with requirement and address, first come first served basis.

I will post tomorrow or as soon (Friday) as all items are sold.

After posting, I will send a PM confirming despatch and the total cost of the item. Payment can then be made by cheque or PayPal.

Due to the low value of these items I will only post to addresses within the UK.

No returns or refunds
