Aren't Sigma in the process of making their new 150 macro in a Pentax mount, I'm sure I read it a couple of moths back on this very forum?

A very wet Llandow kart club meeting. I was of course on my own taking photos because the Caninkons were taking shelter, in fact they never showed up! I normally use my 55-300 but because of the weather I obviously couldn't so had to use the DA* 16-50 instead. This has convinced me that I need to save my pennies for the DA*60-260 because I need the reach and flexibility of a zoom and boy was there a difference in the number of keepers. Whereas the 55-300 struggles to focus the SDM on the 16-50 was (although not perfect) achieving focus far more regularly and the difference in the image quality is very pronounced.
Anyway enough waffle, here are a few for your welcomed C&C.

Are you using the Live View screen as this gobbles up the battery. When on a tripod I use it and have noticed that it will display "Battery Depleted" and shut off. Then when you turn it back on you can carry on shooting for ages...albeit without live view (K-7 btw)

Join a camera club (or two) enter your pictures in as many comps as there are to offer and listen to the judges as they go through everyone's photos, listen and learn. You may not agree with what they say ( and often you won't) but take on board what they say. You will find it will improve your skills no end.

The age old argument of "is it photography " is going to probably rear its head again. I for one am not keen on pictures being over processed. I do believe that there is photo enhancement and then there is photo manipulation which is usually not (exactly) what the camera was pointed at. I'm not a fan of the later however I do appreciate the skill.
Save your pennies puma and get yourself some DA* lenses then go out and take wonderfully sharp shots, because you have an eye for a good photo and leave the manipulation to others.

Dremmeled (if there is such a word) off the excess now it fits a treat. I think it may be either B/F of F/F though I will have to put it on the tripod and do a test.
And yes Stuey £9.99 well spent.
