I agree with Mattmatic - there needs to be more space to the left with the new crop. It might be worth trying to place the head and the end of the tail on the rule of thirds points to see if this makes a more powerful composition. Even then, you may need more space on the left.

You can get cut down split image screen for less than £20 on the usual auction site. Likewise for the Nikon finder (Pentax model is a bit more).

I have a split image screen together with a Nikon magnifier like Ruben - both seem to help. The enlarged image in the viewfinder makes the istDS feel like an old M series camera when looking through the viewfinder. I am slightly worried about the tight fit of the Nikon, hence the enquiry about the Pentax version. Come on SRS

The SMC-M 135/3.5 was my second lens and I still have it. Always gives good results.

Apologies for being contrary here, but I think MUCH of the blame has to go to Pentax. We know they do not have a large marketing budget, but if I were them I would have all my staff on the road one day per week visiting branches of any and every retailer, photo and camera clubs, local authorities and deomstrating the product, exlaining its advantages and also DEMONSTRATING CONFIDENCE ON PENTAX AND THEIR FUTURE. Not sure if this is the responsibility of Pentax or Intro 2020. If the staff are passionate, they would even do this for free. The message and passion must come from Pentax top managers.
