Thanks for the helpful feedback Pete...I might go to the Southport Airshow later this month so I'll bear the shutter speeds in mind...I did manage a few at slower sh/speeds but wasn't really paying as much attention as I probably should have..here's one

out of interest did the balloons fly at Llangollen on Saturday, I was thinking about going there too but thought the windy conditions may have meant the balloons couldn't fly ?

I was just going to say that's unmistakably North Wales - shot 3 gives it away with the mountain backdrop, my favourite of the series

To be honest I use my NDgrads much less than I expected....having said that I own a 0.3/0.6/0.9 hard edge, initially it was the Cokin P filters but I had some colour cast issues (mainly magenta) so recently replaced them with Hi-Tech which seem better (same system as Cokin P) - although they haven't been used much so far.

Bought my Hi-tech filters here: http://www.formatt.co.uk/default.aspx

A link to this terrific piece of software has just been posted on another forum, it's a great tool for anyone into landscape photography. Not only can you find out the sunrise/sunset position you can also determine it's exact altitude & a number of other useful things - have a look !!

Thanks for the comments...

These were taken with the Pentax 17-70 + polariser(rarely without it) - fortunately the intermittent cloud cover produced some decent lighting for daytime, to be honest my photos don't do justice to the colours on top of Conwy mountain - they really are spectacular

One problem I had with these shots was the very bright sunlit yellow heather, the K20D captured it no problem but it was way beyond the Srgb colorspace, I've had to reduce yellow saturation to prevent heavy clipping

Went for a walk along the North wales Coastal path starting in Conwy...it's a shame most visitors to North Wales miss this one as they head to Snowdonia, the views are stunning especially this time of year with the heather in full bloom

I swap between a tripod & monopod depending on the situation, tripod for low light & monopod most other times.

It would be great if someone invented SR that worked in complete darkness - I think were a few years away from that though so don't see the demise of the tripod happening anytime soon

I recently bought the DELL 2209WA 22" monitor and definitely rate it for the money, it's an E-IPS screen so more suitable for photo-editing than the usual TN panel offerings
