Checking out DPreview it seems to lack sharpness, which is something I'm pretty keen on - just wondered if Sigma had managed to produce the "magical" superzoom.

The Sigma had too much distortion for my liking so after a little reading the best options are:
Pentax/Samsung 12-24, Pentax 14mm, Pentax 15mm
I'm swayed more towards the prime lenses for the convenience as much as anything. The reviews suggest that the 14mm has a fair bit of distortion so the 15mm seems the best choice...unfortunately it also seems to be around £200 more expensive than the 14mm.
Anyone any thoughts/experience on the choices here?
thanks

I agree with previous comments on the 2nd, doesn't quite work for me

I'm pretty sure the Sigma is the equal of the 17-50/16-45 in IQ and I'm guessing it suffers less CA than both, added bonus is it covers a wider range too. It's also "nearly" a macro lens which may prove useful

I can't really choose an answer from the poll as it very much depends on the UK weather - in other words it's anybodys guess !!
Simon
That sounds like an 'ad hoc / as needs' answer for you then.

I use it mainly for accessing email/internet etc whilst away and backing up my SD cards.
I have CS3 installed and with the memory upgrade it runs reasonably well but the Netbook doesn't have the required screen resolution to run ACR in "full view".
Personally I think Netbooks are great as backup/email/internet tools but I wouldn't use one for editing.

OK...now for a slightly different approach again - the top image is the original, straight from RAW.
The 2nd shot has been exposed to emphasise the lighting on the mountains, at the expense of some of the finer detail
Keep up those comments please
