I use the 234RC with a Slik Pro Pod 381CF, I find it works really well but I use it primarily for landscape photos so head flexibility isn't such an issue. I use it whilst hiking around the mountains etc where a tripod can be just too cumbersome/weighty sometimes.

Eh?

Not on anything I have looked at.
OK - it does depend what you look at - a quick comparison..

DA55-300...SRS £219, WEX £274.99
DA60-250...SRS £999, WEX £1078.00

but...

DA12-24...SRS £829, WEX £754
DA17-70...SRS £475, WEX £459

But like alot of things at WExpress - their pricing is not the sharpest in the market.
That's true - normally at least 30% above SRS so if we're lucky maybe around £420

I don't know if anyone has heard anything that might give some form of indication what the price for this with the K5 kit might be?

Hopefully it won't be too much.......

Warehouse Express currently have it on pre-order at £599, already owning the DA17-70 & DA55-300 that pricing isn't likely to tempt me personally

The Dell 2209WA use a 22"WS LG.Display e-IPS (LM220WE4)
And the LG W2220P use precisely the same screen

Just looked
the Dell is £316.08
The LG is around £200 (I couldn't find an UK store that has them so used a Dutch one)

Your pricing for the Dell 2209WA is a bit off for the UK Steffan - Ebuyer have them starting at £229 (silver surround)

I'm using the same as John, Dell 2209WA - I'd also highly recommend it especially considering its relatively low cost

Here's another excellent site with info, you can also download the free software and print out a set of DOF charts, I carry mine with me at all times and do refer to them occasionally - 95% of the time though I use the technique explained by John & it works well

Nice set of images Andrew, I may well try something like this now I have the 12-24.

Not sure if you know but the photography exhibition at the National Slate Musuem in Llanberis might prove very intersresting to you, here's a link just in case

Having just bought the 12-24 myself and seen just how sharp it is I'm not sure how the 31mm will add much to your current line-up as you can quite comfortably crop from 24mm to 31mm with no real loss in IQ.

I bought the 40mm F2.8 recently to use as a "pano" lens whilst hiking etc, perhaps a focal length around/above 40mm might prove more useful, although cropping from the 12-24 is still a possibility.

Also forgot to mention that I've had to reduce the blue saturation on some of these shots to prevent SRGB clipping - the shots were all taken in RAW & the lens certainly produces very strong colours/contrast, moreso than the DA 17-70 - so much so that the polariser I took along never left my bag.

Looking forward to some nice clear, crisp winter days to put it to good use around Snowdonia
