That weekend seems to feature a Saturday and a Sunday, both of which usually involve racing cars at this time of year. As things stand, I need to find ways to be simultaneously in Shropshire, Norfolk and Kent, so adding South Yorkshire might be a bit of a stretch. I'll see if I can conjure a plan for Sunday, but it's probably a long shot...

A very nice photo documentary, George - action and atmosphere captured with equal aplomb.

It has taken almost a week to sift through the pixellated debris of last weekend's Oulton Park meeting - and I've finished just in time to start all over again tomorrow (probably at Brands Hatch, although I might be more adventurous). In the meantime, here are a few oddments...

Nice to see you briefly at the weekend, Mike, and sorry that we didn't have time to exchange more than a quick 'hello'. They turned out to be three busy days.

There's some nice panning here, but I particularly like the 356 shot. I presume that's from the bank looking towards the Knickerbrook exit/Clay Hill approach. I stopped there briefly en route to the first chicane, but didn't take any shots. More fool me.

I still have hundreds of images to process, but will doubtless post a few in due course...

Great atmospheric work, David. I envisage a possible sales pitch to the Rotherham Tourist Board...

A slightly bizarre turn of events, yesterday. For one, there were at least four accredited Pentax photographers at Mallory (possibly a new world and Olympic record), For another, I spent part of the morning in the medical centre after stumbling while crossing the track. As I was desperately trying to prevent my cameras hitting the asphalt, my knees bore the brunt and were quite badly cut. The medics thought I'd need stitches, but eventually set me free after swathing me with iodine and bandages. It did mean not being able to cover as much of the circuit as I would have liked, but here are a few snapshots...

Don't mind at all, Derek. While mucking about this morning, I wondered about trying to do something that retained the eye as a sharp central feature. Got home from work late and you'd beaten me to it! You seem to have created a vicious chicken of some description...
