That's bizarre, Barrie. Your post popped up just as I was adding your mobile to my list of contacts. I'll now be there on both Saturday and Sunday.

That tree half looks as though it will uproot and chase the cars in a kinda 'Hammer Horror' sort of way
Officially, Karlo, it is known as The Snetterton Scary Tree - it even has its own Facebook page. The circuit is fairly windswept and the tree came close to collapse after one of last winter's storms. It is held in such affection, however, that locals propped it back up. Its supports are visible in two of the shots above, but a little clearer below...

I thought I'd give it a break this week, but my life was beginning to feel vaguely empty so here's some stuff from Saturday last at Snetterton, Norfolk.

I know this has previously been mentioned in passing, but the Croft Nostalgia Weekend is nigh and a few PU regulars have expressed an interest in attending the event.

It takes place this Saturday and Sunday, at Croft Circuit, Dalton on Tees (DL2 2PL), with car racing, air displays and military parades on both days. I don't yet have a full timetable, but will post a link as soon as it becomes available. I might be there both days, but will probably cover the Mini Festival at Oulton Park on Saturday and move up to Croft on Sunday, when the Vulcan is due to appear as part of its farewell tour. I'll be working, but would love to hook up for a coffee and a natter if anybody else is in the vicinity.

Yet more of my customary nonsense, this time from last weekend's Cadwell Park International Classic. I was there only on Sunday, when conditions turned very wet after a bright start. The afternoon racing was rather diluted, as many riders opted not to venture out, so group shots became something of a rarity. It's an event with fantastic potential, though, if ever the weather should hold. Fortunately, I had full waterproofing for three bodies - K-3, K-5 IIs and mine....

Some great stuff here, George - a fine blend of action, motion and location. I usually default to somewhere between 1/100 and 1/160 for cars. Not sure where I'd start with cyclists. 1/60, perhaps?

A fine endorsement for the 150-450, Mike - terrific IQ. Look forward to seeing more in due course.

Hopefully, I'll finally get to meet you if you're still heading up to Croft for the Nostalgia Weekend.
It's on my schedule, Simon. It's about 250 miles each way for me, but that's no deterrent. The racing schedule is similar on both days, but Sunday appeals particularly because the Vulcan is due to fly past...

However, now to be really picky. 'Correct Headgear' - really? Would they have been wearing any form of helmet when these cars were in their prime?
A fair point, Phil. Some drivers wore primitive crash helmets in the 1930s, others opted for cloth bonnets and some were 'protected' only by goggles. Modern open-face helmets look vaguely appropriate, though, and I only ever convert to mono if the driver is thus attired. I also tend not to shoot old cars if they are smothered with GoPros, although these can quite easily be cloned out...

Erm, apologies for the finger trouble. Don't know how strong last night's Sauvignon Blanc must have been, but I seem not to have been typing straight (and it's now too late to edit the opening post). Caption 4 should of course say 'Correct headgear' and #7 'Primed for action'. Pretty poor effort, given my profession...
