Actually David Bailey was spotted a in vintage camera shop in Plymouth just a couple of days ago and a young member of staff got a selfie with him and got into the local paper. He lives on a farm in Devon

I have seen it twice and its brilliant. Going to see it again. I think there was another photography documentary on before it started and there is that Britain in focus documentary as well.

With a manual lens such as an M series for example that has no contact,s it would short out contacts on the camera body, that in turn would tell the camera that a manual lens is fitted. I think its only 2 pins that have to be shorted and if a reversing ring extension tube or a lens has a painted or anodised mount then the camera will not recognise that a lens is fitted.

I have tried a reversing ring on my Pentax M50 f1.7, it works ok but I didn,t like having the rear element exposed. So bought some very cheap extension tubes and that got me into Macro, I have used these extension tubes on the M50 and Tamron 28-75 . Since then I bought a Sigma 105 f2.8 secondhand and found it excellent. The main reason I got the Sigma was that it had an aperture ring which would be useful if I put extension tubes on it. Incidentally I recently used the Sigma on my K-1 at a boxing event and was impressed with its performance.

I wasn't overly impressed with my 24-70, but now I have fine tuned the AF it is very good. I have only tried it out indoors at iso 3200, 1/250 sec, f2.8 at 50 to 70mm, but I think it should be good at other ranges. I had to give it +7 adjustment.

The 15-30 is a cracker but the filter holder plus filters will be expensive.

Definitely get it back, why do they want to keep it - for spares?

I don't know why Pentax is being singled out, I have looked at the popular models of one of the major brands of DSLRs and can't find any firmware enhancements apart from distortion correction for lenses. Maybe there some I don't know, but I'm happy with the firmware updates provided, if extra features are provided so much the better, every one loves a freebie.

It makes commercial sense to give enhancements to their latest model to make more attractive against the competition.

Has this thread caused this upset, with people seeing enhancements for the K-1 and not not liking that their cameras are not getting enhancements? Well maybe Pentax will read this thread not not release v1.4 then you will all be happy.

You have to remember that Pentax is a business as other camera manufacturers like other consumer product manufacturers. You don't buy a flat screen TV and expect it to be later enhanced with new features.
