In case you didn't spot it, last night (16/03/2017) on BBC 4 there was a good drama, "We'll Take Manhattan" about the relationship between photographer David Bailey and model Jean Shrimpton (played by Karen Gillan) on their ground-breaking shoot for 'Vogue' magazine in New York in 1962.
He used a Pentax S3 which gets a mention.
It will probably be available on iPlayer.
Another for me to download (hopefully ) thanks for bringing it to my attention, love the era too!

Watching the programme again, I was struck by the thought that the Pentax Spotmatic is probably the coolest, most lovely camera of all time. I know digital cameras are much more intrinsically important since they contain the "film" as well as the shutter and light meter, but Spotmatics are/were so special. I never owned one at the time but always wanted one.
Best wishes,
Andrew

Have to agree with you Andrew, after always wanting a spotmatic from a young age, nearly 40 years later I managed to find a mint spotmatic 2 . Maybe a small thing to most but for me a big deal ☺ . I just hope the roll of film that is going through it is as magical as the camera ☺

I'd love to know how you get on. Digital is so good. It's like lusting after old cars : the reality of driving one might be a bit of a let down.

I saw the program first time around. A Spotmatic II was my first proper camera back in 1972. My boss who was keen on photography recommended it and even lent me the cash to buy it.
