I like the red of post box and old telephone box and nice weather to be out. I am not to keen on the lime kiln, maybe too light or not enough contrast. Did you walk around to Radford Lake/ Radford Park

I basically agree on what Steve has been saying. I know the streets are not going to be filled with photographers but other people will be thinking they're activity isn't doing any harm. The message is don't go out unless it's essential. Exercise is allowed but should not be abused because if enough people abuse it then even stricter measures could be taken.

Since I took up photography I have had loads and loads of walks been to loads of places I would never had gone to and found lots of stuff about the places I have been. In effect photography gets me out the house and gets me to do some exercise so the current situation has hit me hard. Without causing any offence to anyone and staying with what I now think is ok for me, I am going to carry me camera, only the one lens and be selective and economical what I shoot even if I only take half a dozen shots it will get me out the house for exercise.

I made this post really just to clarify in my head what I want and need to do to get out the house. I hope everyone the best and stay safe

Thanks for all your comments. I think Steve hit the nail on the head with the main purpose for going outside. So minimal equipment and not to take lots of images. I suppose if stopped by police with hundreds of images it could be quite awkward. I think I might take my camera next time I go out for a walk.

Following other peoples images being published on my local news website I ask these questions. Is there a line between taking your camera with you while you exercise and going out to take photos' using exercise as an excuse?

Going out once a day is allowed but going out to take photographs are not. So if the primary purpose is photography but during your allowed exercise what are your feelings. I would love to walks the streets taking pictures during this time, but should I?

Hi Mate, welcome to the forum. My first Pentax was in the late 70's/early 80's and was a MEF with a nifty fifty and a 80-210 f3.8 Tamron. It was a good camera and had additional focussing aids. After a few years I used it less and when I found the exposure had stopped working I dropped photography altogether. Took it up again about 9 years ago. Anyway I am from Plymouth.

Sorry I have not got back earlier but my wife has been in hospital, she is back home with me now.
The image represents how as I saw it. I think it could do with being a bit lighter but especially the foreground so whilst not representing what I saw it would make it more interesting. If I lighten the image noise makes a big presence. I will be going back to the same place sometime in the future and be better prepare as many of my pics were not in focus and did not use built in noise reduction or dark frame subtraction. I will also go out to some closer places to practice.

Is the foreground too dark? If I had waited till the moon came up it might have put more light on the foreground or I could have shone a torch over the stones. What do you think?

I had a few goes but had problems focusing in the dark, ended up putting a torch near the stones and also problems with cars, especially their red lights. Still got this one with 2mins for the foreground and 2 mins for the sky. I thought I had obscured the red lights in the stone, they are from a distant tv transmitter mast.

I will definitely do more and next time will use the long exposure noise reduction on the camera. Hopefully I will get more experience using Paintshop Pro and layers.
