Thanks Doug - nice to know I'm not alone. Will take a browse through your Flickr photostream! Secretly very excited about getting the K7 and I'm telling myself that I'm going to take it to work with me everyday. I'm doing a Project 365 and I'm getting a bit sick of the limitations of my Option S7. Its pocketable but to be frank quite poor in low light and I just can't be as creative with it. The K7 is lighter than my K20D so I'm convincing myself its money well spent as I'll be taking it everywhere!

Well, I've been debating for a while and finally took the plunge today. I've bought a K7 body only from SRS!!!!

Anybody want to buy a K20D in immaculate condition? Comes with 18-55 lens and has had a GGS glass screen protector fitted from day 1. Around 9000 clicks to date. Only 15 months old and bought from SRS so still has Pentax warranty left until the end of the year.

Have I done the right thing? Will I regret all that extra expense? Will I love my K7? I'm sure I will but i've now got the post-buying jitters!!!!!

Off to India on business in 3 weeks time so hope to get at least an afternoon to explore with the K7. Can't wait.

I went to the Gadget Show last year. No Pentax. More importantly, the tickets make it very clear you cannot take photographs inside so I left mine locked up in the car, only to discover EVERYBODY with cameras clicking left right and centre. They were even actively encouraged during the live show. I was furious.

Here's what they said about the K-X

ROFL :

"Determine a camera that redefines the entrance-neck digital SLR section. The PENTAX K-x offers extraordinary-end features including Glowing Hope, HD video and lifelike doing that challenges higher division models. Since theres no charge that SLR cameras must meet up in one color, try the K-x in a alternative of deathly white or angry, as well as idiosyncratic, small copy red and argosy. With a one-handed shooting form that is hellishly consolidated, lightweight, and undemanding-to-use, the very affordable K-x is entire for users stepping up from a theme and execute digital camera to their first digital SLR. "

"Hellishly consolidated" - brilliant!

I can recommend "Adobe Photoshop for Photographers" by Martin Evening. There are versions for CS2, CS3 and CS4. Some of the stuff is pretty advanced and I have to admit to not having used the book much myself but at least it explains real world situations and how and why you would use the tools.

I think this is like a tiny little universe caught in a bubble.

This is a droplet of Coca Cola,on the back of a CD. Lit from above using a desk lamp and shot with a manual focus Vivitar 28mm close-focus lens at f2.8.
