Well, I've been debating for a while and finally took the plunge today. I've bought a K7 body only from SRS!!!!

Anybody want to buy a K20D in immaculate condition? Comes with 18-55 lens and has had a GGS glass screen protector fitted from day 1. Around 9000 clicks to date. Only 15 months old and bought from SRS so still has Pentax warranty left until the end of the year.

Have I done the right thing? Will I regret all that extra expense? Will I love my K7? I'm sure I will but i've now got the post-buying jitters!!!!!

Off to India on business in 3 weeks time so hope to get at least an afternoon to explore with the K7. Can't wait.

Thanks Doug - nice to know I'm not alone. Will take a browse through your Flickr photostream! Secretly very excited about getting the K7 and I'm telling myself that I'm going to take it to work with me everyday. I'm doing a Project 365 and I'm getting a bit sick of the limitations of my Option S7. Its pocketable but to be frank quite poor in low light and I just can't be as creative with it. The K7 is lighter than my K20D so I'm convincing myself its money well spent as I'll be taking it everywhere!

Most of my flickr is pre K-7. The weather has not been conducive of late but I have my yearly cultural trip to the Far East (London) planned next week. I'll take the K-7 and see how many times I can get stopped by PSCOs.

Irving Penn at the portrait gallery, Borse prize at the Photographers and a few other places too.

The only thing that stops me from buying a K7 is that its a stop less on the dynamic range compared with the K20D, which I currently own.

I wonder if that's still true with the new update because ISO noise is also improved so could very well be that dynamic range is also increase to K20D levels.
