What a brilliant combination of bug and flower. That must have been a horrendously expensive lens. Next time, try to get the fly to smile. Nice.

Ooh, flowers. I bet that was an expensive lens. Did you just set the camera to AE mode and blaze away? Very nice colour and focus. There's obviously a degree of skill required to take good flower pictures.

Sheer brilliance! This is a very impressive p*** take. Respect, Mr. "PentaxExpert". We've all had a good laugh, now how about posting some serious images.

I kind of like the idea of brick wall shots. Maybe that could be a competition theme, as long as there are no flowers or bugs in the frame.

No funny captions from me, just a little travel tip for those who go near 'roos. When they stand up un their tip-toes, like this one, they're getting ready to rip your guts out with that big middle toe. Beware!
Ok, I'll try...

"Oi, Doris. I told ya we did the right thing, leaving when the bush fire came through. Here's cousin Barry's tail"

Have you considered rationalizing your lenses or even your entire system?
Well Gareth, I've had a good think about your suggestion, and after much internet based research, I've finally decided on the Sigma 17-70 f2.8 - 4.5. That's the first version, without the pesky battery draining OS. I've also decided to sell a few lenses to help fund this purchase, and put some cash in the "lens bank". They are the Takumar 135mm, Sigma 18-50 kit lens, and Tokina 28-70 f2.8. I'm undecided on the 35-105 as yet, as well as the 200mm f4. My future kit would hopefully include a 50-135 DA, and an A-100 f2.8 macro, or DFA version.
Thanks for the reality check. I look forward to having a camera bag I can actually carry.

Kevin, just read your post. I am keen for an upgraded camera body. My K100D Super only has about 6000 actuations, so maybe I'd better get some more use out of it before trading up. Nevertheless, I've still got my eye on the K-r.....

Have you considered rationalizing your lenses
Here's my philosophy on the lens issue. For about twenty years, I had a P30-T and an Astron 35-75 and Sigma 70-210 f4-5.6. I'd always ignorantly thought that Pentax lenses were just overpriced versions of what I already had. Then I bought a K100D Super, and started hanging around this website, reading all the positive comments about the Pentax branded lenses. I tested the waters, first with a Takumar 135mm, then a 50mm f1.7. By now I was simply amazed at the colour rendition and sharpness, particularly of the 50mm. The 200mm f4 and 35-105 followed, and by then I was building a 'collection'. These old manual lenses are seldom used, but when they are, I know they will most likely produce a result far superior to anything I've produced in the twenty years prior. I reckon I'll keep the manual lenses as I really like well-built stuff, and in any case, each one only represents about $100 investment. It's time, however, to improve the AF stable, so perhaps the 70-300 Sigma and 18-50 could go.I'm even thinking of shifting the Tokina 28-70......

Ok, the birthday has arrived, and my good woman has bought me....clothes, (at my very sensible request). I have, however, acquired a few hundred dollars to spend from other family members. Not enough for the K-r, but enough for a lens. I'm thinking of a Pentax 16-45, or maybe a Tamron 17-50 f2.8. This would be a replacement for the kit lens I have. Any thoughts on which one would be better?
