Regarding my earlier post, here is the download link for WMWare Player, it's also available for Linux, so for example, a copy of Win XP could run inside a Linux PC.

For anyone who has obsolete software that won't run on a current PC operating system (OS). If you have or can obtain an installation CD of the original OS then download 'VMWare Player' (free for personal use). In simple terms this enables a PC simulation to run on your current PC OS which can then be loaded with your old OS and then your obsolete software.

I use it to run a copy of Windows XP on my Windows 7 PC. It's possible to create several virtual PCs, I also have one running Linux and one a Microsoft server OS for testing purposes.

There's also 'VirtualBox' which does a smilar job but not as well IMO.

2 and 3 are very nice (IMO). Some of those old Takumars are very capable.

Beautiful image of a seemingly ordinary object and excellent use of light & shadow. Sadly few 'labels' are embossed on objects made today.
It has a timeless quality too. Could have been taken 50 years ago.

Ditto, it's a lovely lens and you can make the focal range work for most situations. (A 24mm in the pocket comes in handy when 35 isn't wide enough though!)
+1

My 35-70 SMC-A is a favorite.

I think you'll find that the flagship models (those with the top LCD) did come with the VF cap, the consumer models (without top LCD) did not.
I don't think the K100DS was ever considered a flagship model. It has a top LCD and came with the VF cover.

(after all they only cost a few pence to make)

Pentax used to include an eye piece cover, but newer models don't have this anymore.
I think it's only ever been the flagship models that come with the view-finder cap, Richard.
The K-3 has it.

I think they all do. My K100DS came with one. Although I lost it now.

If you are happy, why change? The manual lenses are better made, will last longer, and are nicer to handle. I love 'em.

I agree, if your old lenses fit your needs why bother. I have 8 lenses and only one, the 18-55mm, is modern (or even autofocus).
