Microsoft end support for XP next week so it might be worth considering an upgrade. Chrome is generally considered to be the fastest browser. When it comes to IE, I have found 3rd party toolbar addons can affect performance, so disable any you have installed.

Yes, I'd say they are subtle. I didn't automaically think HDR.

Years ago (before zooms really took off) the accepted wisdom for starters was you could photograph almost anything with just a pair of 28 and 135mm lenses and I think that's true. I still have an MX but I haven't shot film for a long time so can't really advise on that.

You might find a flash useful.

It's a nice picture. The ageing (sepia) is good but I wouldn't have introduced fake scratches and creases, they don't add anything.

Although it's generally considered to involve photographing people, some have expanded the meaning to cover urban landscapes (which is a lot less embarrassing for the photographer), see below
