I am in the market for a new tablet. From what I saw in some shops there is a difference in quality of screens between Samsung and Asus - Google Nexus. The picture on the Samsung screens seems just with more rich, saturated and pleasant image than Asus - Google Nexus. Is it only me? Do other see the same difference? Does it have anything to do with fact that Samsung is one of the world leaders in TV and computer screens technology?

Nigel,

I decided to take the simple road and you the external as a simple manual backup device, and just ignore the automatic backup software.

I keep my external hard drives always separately for safety.

Thanks for the replies.
Now a complete non-computer geeks - laymen questions.
What are the big benefits of automatic backup programs? I do not like the idea of too much automatic procedures and tend to prefer to backup manually.
What does it mean when you make a mirror (clone) of your hard drive - does it backup also the system and all the installed programs?
The external hard drive I got will serve me as a master backup device (my insurance policy...)and will not be connected permanently to the computer. For daily work I using also a portable hard drive.

Just got myself a new Western Digital My Book 2 TB external hard drive for my PC running Win 7. It comes with WD SmartWare - automatic backup software.

How good is this software?

Is it recommended to use it or just backup myself in a manual way?

If I install it, can I bypass it or will take over the hard drive?

I know this compare tool - cannot find any Pentax DSLR with a CCD sensor - I have experience with Olympus E-1 with a Kodak CCD sensor and under normal daylight conditions it produces better images than any Olympus camera with CMOS camera that I have tried.
If you click on 'All', it will display all Pentax cameras from the istD onwards!
Thanks!

K10D and previous had CCD sensors, all subsequent models are CMOS. So the difference, if any, is becoming rather irrelevant in DSLRs as the quality of current cameras outstrips the earlier models regardless.
Thanks, John.
Yet how can we explain that some photographers say that they prefer the IQ of CCD sensors?

Can anybody post images that compare CCD based DSLR Pentax cameras to CMOS based cameras?
