The Pentax ring flash adapter for the 100mm macro lens is like a deep hood which attaches to the body and not the filter thread. As the front element of the lens moves quite a distance when focusing I guess having the weight of the flash on the moving part would otherwise be detrimental to the lens, so that is something to bear in mind.

I have seen a few people on the forum say they will wait until it's affordable and a few more that probably won't buy it because it's missing something important to them but I don't think I have seen one person on here saying that no one will buy it ?

Not here but on t’internet, one article carried the title “The new camera nobody will buy” and so on, mainly because it isn’t mirrorless. Love to see them proved wrong. If I didn’t have a K1 I would definitely consider it and hope a new FF model comes out soon with the same advancements in autofocus and sensitivity.

I don’t know if SRB Photographic can help, they have all sorts of adaptors etc. and I recall the MD at the Photography Show telling me they make bespoke stuff in their workshop.

Seeing as only one copy had been delivered to the large W H Smiths in Stratford, whereas they normally get a few, I wrote to the editor: Nigel Atherton replied requesting details of the shops so I responded and hopefully normal service will be resumed. I still rarely buy it but it's nice to have the option!

My local photo group is featured in this week’s Amateur Photographer magazine which is nice, however my local shop has recently stopped selling it and in fact there were no photo magazines on display at all. Spoiled for choice though if you like guns and cars.
