Does anyone have recommendations for memory cards for the K-1? More important than capacity probably is the speed, thinking of pixel shift shots and exposure bracketing at 36mp.

Slightly off-topic but whilst we while the time away.....picking up on stu62's point Ricoh/Pentax apparently has an arrangement with Tamron to construct some Pentax lenses. I was assured by the Pentax rep that these are not rebadged Tamron lenses but assembled by Tamron from glass supplied by Pentax and assembled to their standards. This may explain why Tamron won't do similar lenses in K mount.

Also in the news that an earthquake has disrupted the Sony image sensor production plant in Japan.

Calm down kiddies! The Ricoh website gives the release date as 28 April, so let's not get ahead of ourselves.

So who's going to be using existing lenses, and who's going to be buying new lenses?
I have just two modern FF lenses and have ordered a 28-105mm; I was going to opt for the 24-70mm until I picked one up and realised it is too heavy for me as a general purpose lens. Whilst I have three DA lenses I don't see the point of using these on FF in crop mode as a permanent arrangement so I will be changing them when the opportunity arises. I am keen to swop for prime lenses and await with eagerness the new primes supposedly coming next year. Also rather fancy the Samyang tilt-turn lens.

No, I expect a load of amazing, incredible, inspirational fast action AF tracked shots, all with high ISO, extreme small DOF, pixel-shifted, astrotraced and HDR
Now, where is that Auto button?!!

If you are in a public place then you can photograph children
Does anyone know where this business of believing that rights exist to do things in public places came from? I know of no law that gives the public a right to photograph anything in any place, whether public or not. If anyone does know of such a law - can you please point me towards it?

Isn't photography just one of those things that folks might do - such as breathing, sneezing, talking or peering into shop windows? There is no law against it nor any right to do it.

I suspect that the belief that being in a public place confers rights is yet another urban myth.

Andrew
You have the right to do any damn thing you please so long as there is no law expressly forbidding it. And if public venues have a policy of no photos then this should be clearly displayed otherwise you cannot be held to account. This is the definition of a free country and last time I checked that is still the case here despite the petty army of bar-room experts trying to say otherwise.

And I thought going on a bike meant you would be cycling! I was so impressed.
