The K-1 Operation Manual is available to download at Pentax Ricoh Imagine UK site and is listed under as K-1 OPM EN download in the Support Section.
The download has 134 pages and makes interesting reading. You could read this before the Camera arrives in the post.???

I see that they have dropped the PENTAX name
All the other manuals have it PENTAX K-5 etc.

Does that mean it won't be on the camera and the delay with the release was due to someone having to remove the name from the bodies

It could of course be all down to employing an idiot

I'd not noticed before but does anyone have any ideas why the 'K-m White' needs a different manual to the other K-m models??

I notice on this and the K-3II manual the title page is different from earlier ones in that RICOH is now in large bold whereas previously it was PENTAX in bold with "A Ricoh Company" in smaller type below. This is subtle rebranding to change the status of Pentax from a separate company within the Ricoh group to just a brand name. Historically a good brand name has been the most valuable asset from an established company which is stripped out and the other assets disposed of, and has resulted in well respected titles being stuck on inferior imported goods - think Grundig, Bush, Slazenger, Dunlop etc.. Seeing as Ricoh keep targeting Pentax's historic customer base I hope they don't think this strategy would retain customers if the company itself disappeared.

At least we know that when the camera finally starts to get used by members, we will be spared any questions about how it works, because everyone has had plenty of time to completely read and re-read the manual before they even get the camera

Kudos to Ricoh. But it is a Pentax. Just enjoy the camera!
