Gajan, what a tease! A firm near me has stopped advertising in AP (or anywhere else) due to increased costs and falling circulation, but I sincerely hope it continues printed circulation. Scrolling and zooming a download is tiresome.

So, Gajan, how do you know about this?

The flight shots are pin sharp and the last two very dramatic, well done!

I don’t care how much of a pro photographer you are I just don’t believe you can assess ANY camera just by using it for a couple of hours. If you are a Nikon or Canon user (as most of them are) then you will be familiar with the menus and operations so maybe you could with one of their offerings, but Pentax cameras work very differently. They rely less on the menus and instead offer much more control through the various buttons which is far quicker and, once you are familiar with them becomes intuitive. I reckon you would need several weeks to get your mindset round to this way of working. Also a big deal is made of the jpeg quality - who cares? Anyone buying this sort of camera will work in RAW and that is the performance that matters.

Another issue with these reviews is you can’t resist reading the comments below which are nearly all just plain silly, ignorant and childish, and I have to hold back from wasting my time responding. My bet is those people spend more time posting that actually taking photos.

Looks a neat job. What are "anti-twist widgets" ?

With just the screw connection and the head locked it is very easy to rotate the mount and loosen it. The stem on Manfrotto heads that the mount screws to has a slot either side, and Manfrotto mounts have a corresponding ridge to lock in place and prevent this happening. Third party mounts like the Sunwayfoto have slots underneath instead of the ridge, to suit different manufacturers, so a widget (proper name boss adaptor) is used with ridges either side of a washer to locate into the slots:link. The Sunwayfoto agents here in UK were out of stock so posted me the link on ebay which was helpful of them. However all the suppliers appear to be in China so a longer wait.

The Sunwayfoto head replacement is very nicely made and has a smooth firm action. here are some pics:

This model will also take the Manfrotto plates should the need arise:

And it comes with a screw for attaching to a Manfrotto plate if you either cannot or do not want to replace the head permanently:

Overall really pleased with the quality of the products, I am just waiting for the anti-twist widgets from China or alternatively something could be made to work.

Ooooh it's sexy! weighs very little and the finish is a perfect match to the body. This Arca Swiss mount means that the body still rests nicely when put on a flat surface which the Manfrotto mount doesn't allow.

Postscript to these, i was invited to an event at the factory launching a new permanent collection of iconic Braun items donated by an American collector. Highlight was meeting and having a long and interesting chat with Deuter Rams, the designer behind these products from the 1970s and 1980s and who had flown over specially. The connection was that Deuter also designed the Vitsoe furniture range which they are still manufacturing here today. Interesting where photography leads us, we were also treated to a dramatic dance by a troupe who use the same factory space so if any come out I will post some photos.
