Thanks for showing me what can be done with a little effort

I must admit that I still have a lot to learn when it comes to image manipulation. These images were converted to JPEG from RAW using Silxypix with no other editing.

Thanks for your comments. The third image happened by accident Kris. I was framing it up in the viewfinder and thought that it looked different as it is not my kind of style really - well it actually turned out to be better than I expected

I've had a quick look at the rest of the images and I'm really pleased with how they all turned out. A lot of that is due in part to all the advice that I've picked up having been on here!!

Here's some of my Reyjkavik photos taken during my trip to Iceland over the weekend. The rest are on my Flickr page which will be updated over the next few days.

These were taken using the DA*16-50mm and 50-200mm WR lenses on a K7.

Thanks for looking and C&C welcome as always

These are as shot from the camera.

Thanks

Rob

As the title suggests, I am coming to the end of my short stay in Iceland and will be returning to the UK on Tuesday. The temperature has been above freezing and there has not been any snow but plenty of rain!

I have taken a few photos which will posted on here when I return but yesterday I was at Geysir and managed to get a sequence of photos of the Geysir named Strokur...it was pouring down with rain but the K-7, grip and 16-50 performed admirably and I have used it today without any side effects whatsover. No Northern Lights though as it has been too cloudy

Have enjoyed the trip all the same but just wanted to say here that Pentax Weather Resistant equipment does work under extreme conditions

From my experience since Johnsons have taken over the repairs and the time the service has taken have not improved.

For example SRS sent my K-7 off in August to have the sensor replaced due to it being damaged (I purchased it in July). A month or so later it had been sent back to SRS claiming the sensor had been cleaned. However it was returned with the same fault so it went off again...and again it was sent back to SRS claiming the sensor had been cleaned with the same marks on the sensor with no other explanation. BTW all of this under warranty as well.

In the meantime Chris has kindly lent me a demo K-7 to use instead but I am due to pick up a brand new K-7 from SRS tomorrow.

So I would be very dubious about any times that Pentax have quoted you.

I recently purchased a Metz 58 AF-1, a bit more expensive but capable of good results with the K-7. If you look at the boxing photos on my Flickr site they were taken with this combination:

Lafone Cup

Hope this helps,

Rob

Having had another look at some images that I had taken last year with the K-7 and the K20D in DNG format, mostly of action shots with SR activated, it reminded me that the IQ is actually very good even if the fps and AF rate aren't as good as the competition.

I really like #1 especially in B&W...adds to the "cold" effect for me.

Nice shot

Thanks for all your comments and advice which will be put to use on the next occasion! Out of all the images that I came back with Tower Bridge is my favourite.

I thought I would have a go at something different whilst waiting for the airshow season to start again in May
