Much better Simon

And I also thought that was so much digital noise behind the castle but now I can see its a whole load of trees!

(Still get distracted from the Castle by the bridge though)

Hi Simon - Great shot of the castle, done loads of fishing off Conway - great place. That pics too busy for me though. Like Mannesty I'd get rid of the sand and also the bridge and crop tighter. I've no experience of these low light shots but seems to have a blue colour cast?

Also on this forum is a watermark required? Seems the pic is way too small to make it worthwhile to pinch - or is it my trusting good nature .

Cheers Ken.

The windows in the sculpture gallery are ESEasterlie facing, so I went early morning. I actually thought about this the day before and planned the trip. This is something I wouldn't have done a few months back, I'd have just turned up but thanks to the advice on this forum and reading up a bit I'm thinking that bit more and (hopefully) making better pictures.

Took me a long, long time but finally realised like most things in life it pays to give it some thought.

Thanks for the comments folks .

1 and 4 are of ‘Puck’, the mischievous sprite of Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Nights Dream’ by Harriet Hosmer (1859) - you can just see the wee devilish horns here.
This was so much a hit it brought her over $30000 - a fortune in the mid nineteenth century.
I'm always blown away at how they can reproduce the human form from inside their head into a block of marble so magnificently.

What I really like about the Walker gallery is everything is within reach, you can touch and feel the art, you feel so much closer to the artist - well I do anyway .

Asked politely and was given permission to drag the tripod round the gallery today. The light was beautiful and the gallery empty, all on my lonesome (except for the models) but it was really enjoyable .

Really cool shot - beautiful model and beautifully posed.

Nit picking but I'd have cloned out those underarm wrinkles and somehow got that hand, elbow and foot to touch the floor reflection.

No idea what an RC and HC (Commendation maybe?) are but well done .

Great colours, really nice. May be just my simple self, but sometimes I don't think you need much more in a pic.

Been playing with this lens too, love it. Makes me want lots more primes

A very profound and intense picture Steve. My thoughts go out to that little girl.
