I appreciate the need for a watermark, but yours, is overstated. Looking through the watermark is difficult, but to me, all of the interest is above a line around the middle (above your watermark), the foreground does nothing, and I would lose most of it. Exposure seems spot on.

Thanks for the reply - the watermark is definitely overdone - I've rectified this now

To provide a bit more info, this shot was taken with my newly acquired Tamron 70-300 DI LD at a focal length of 200mm - quite pleased in the result considering the lens only cost £70 !!

I have the 70-300mm APO Macro Super and it is a superb performer for it's price.

I prefer no watermark but yes, it's improved. It doesn't distract attention too much from the main image.

I'm still not happy about the lower 50% of the pic, but that's just my preference.

Hi Simon - Great shot of the castle, done loads of fishing off Conway - great place. That pics too busy for me though. Like Mannesty I'd get rid of the sand and also the bridge and crop tighter. I've no experience of these low light shots but seems to have a blue colour cast?

Also on this forum is a watermark required? Seems the pic is way too small to make it worthwhile to pinch - or is it my trusting good nature .

Thanks for the feedback guys, as luck would have it I also shot several more from the same location - I guess you prefer this one, taken slightly earlier so a little more detail in the trees behind - this is at 300mm with the Tamron 70-300.

The 1st shot did have a blue tint, corrected now - thanks for the "heads-up" - one of the reasons I enjoy posting shots on forums, great feedback !!

The images are linked directly from my website & due to a couple recent "incidents" I now watermark all my images to try & discourage a few certain individuals, unfortunate but seemingly necessary

Much better Simon

And I also thought that was so much digital noise behind the castle but now I can see its a whole load of trees!

(Still get distracted from the Castle by the bridge though)

I think the composition of your second posting is much better than the first. I'm not sure which I prefer for lighting, maybe the first one is better. I'm sure you could reduce the exposure of the second one to obscure the background trees or paint over them with your preferred editor.

Great subject.

I second this thought. If you use the lowest resolution, without losing to much IQ you should not worry to much. I hope Simon isn,t relying to much on his new ''security adjustments''. It is so easy to download them.
Even from his site. To prevent a quick snatch, there are better ways to scare off most people. It is sad obviously that some people seem to think everything is for grabs these days.
Martin.
Best regards,

Martin.

I know that they're is no foolproof way to protect anything posted on the WWW but it can't hurt to make life a little harder for those trying !!

The image here is watermarked because its linked directly from my website where I now watermark ALL images - even though they're small I've had a couple of recent "incidents", hence I have begun to watermark

thanks
