I have the original Q which i purchased second hand on this forum.

I had the same dilemma when i bought mine and im glad i went for the original as the build quality is so nice.

The image quality from it always surprises me (and thats only with the 5-15 lens - id like the prime but not enough to spend the money they are new).

would you be better off with just the 300 + 1.4 and cropping? you info in camera would be correct and iq may be better than with the 2 converters?

i took this just experimenting with that combo

I completely agree.

I think lenses hold their value more than other items as they arnt replaced yearly like camera bodies.

I work on a 60% of the current new price for second hand items. Maybe others think differently.

First camera i purchased was a HP photosmart 507 point and shoot which i really enjoyed using.

First dslr was a pentax k100d that the wife bought me for my birthday. It turned out to be the best present ever as it sparked my interest in photography.

Is it just me or are there others that get frustrated with the value sellers put on their second hand equipment in the classifieds?

If I can go buy it today new from SRS for 10% more with a 2 year warranty and free next day delivery on what planet would I buy it from the classifieds?

Ive just had a look for you. The key is 3mm and the grove is close to 6mm. Once clamped down its not moving anywhere.

Just re-read my old post and it was you Barrie who pointed me at that clamp

I voted k3 as i wouldn't 'upgrade' to the k3ii.

But if i were buying new id pay the extra £50 for the 'hypothetically' improved autofocus and extra stop and a half SR.

Anyone got a K3 grip they no longer want or had as part of the new deals etc?

Ive only just tried and DSTE grip and would like the real thing. Shame i missed SRS's £99.99 offer.

Ive never owned a grip before but wanted to give one a go to see if it made shooting with heavier lenses more comfortable. (shooting with a 50-135 always felt like the camera wanted to pivot forward and to the left out of my hand)

I saw on here the DSTE grip got good reviews so have finally got one. Well why didnt i do that sooner! It feels soo much better with the grip against your palm and somewhere for your little finger to grip onto. The camera actually feels lighter with the grip.

Does the pentax grips buttons, dials and plastic/rubber have an identical feel to the cameras? Is there any bad points to the original grip? (i read that someone thought the battery trays weren't the best)

Also is there a way to make the camera show a combined remaining battery indicator instead of just the one being used?
