Number 5 is my favourite.

I'd have tried to make more of the rocks or whatever it is at the end of the wall somehow, but I wasn't there so don't know what you had to contend with. I'd have also tried the same shot with a bit more going on in the sky, for my taste there is a little too much blue - maybe try in B&W?

My point is that discretion would be the better part of valor in this situation - if the OP was not posing a risk to others the attendant should have left him alone; if he was posing a risk to himself, well, so be it. To say that the OP might have been taking pictures to aid in theft is, quite honestly, bordering on slander.

I'd wager that had the OP been part of a group of oiks on those stupid mini-bikes that seem to infest car parks these days, the attendant would have stayed put in his cabin.

A bit too much of the nanny state and not enough common sense here.

Of course, one could also argue that as a resident of the town (presumably), the OP's council tax pays for the upkeep of the facility and that he'd also paid to park therein...

It sounds as though the attendant didn't have enough to do.

I just wanted to give this a quick bump as it seems to have got buried under the Whitby thread

Having not long got back from six weeks on the same continent, the only thing I can think of that you "might" want is a remote release.

I've tried Picturenaut, on the plus side, it's free and does not hog resources.

On the minus side, it often would not output an image saying that some of the ones I wanted to treat were too close together. When it did produce images, the results were so far away from the real view it was very noticeable.

I don't know if it was the program, or me not fully understanding HDR (although I thought I did).

anyone know why the Pentax Camera Utility would have suddenly decided to hang, it is the 4.3 version??
Have/did you update anything else (or have it done for you by the confuser) that PCU was reliant upon?

And use a little thread-lock compound (or just the other half's nail-varnish because that works just as well! Perfectly serious! ) on the screws before you tighten them up, to stop the same thing happening again.
That is a new one on me! I only had the problem once so I figured it had been loose from the factory - certainly I've not had the same issue since, but I'll bear it in mind if it starts to mis-behave. Thank you.

On a more serious note - it would seem that you have had experience of this, so is there a manufacturing issue for Sigma to be aware of? That is 2 (maybe 3) that have come to light in a few days...

Hi, Thanks for the tip about the lens mount and screws,. I feel a bit silly, but they were loose, and much to my joy, everything is working again. Thanks again
No worries - just make sure you put the money saved in repair bills to good use

Don't know if this is relevant, but I had a similar issue with the same lens.

Have a look at the lens mount - is it loose at all? I found that it had enough movement in it to stop the pins making contact with the camera body. A couple of the screws holding the mount in were indeed a bit loose, but this was soon cured with the aid of a jewellers screwdriver
