Have you tried PHOTOMATIX?? I find it quite intuitive

Have you tried Picturenaut, it's free.
Photomatix integrates to Lightroom. Free to try, but costs if you want to remove the trial watermark.

PhotoMatrix Pro is very good and easy to use.
Another good contender is easyHDR.
I own and use both, but I would have to say that PhotoMatrix produces nicer quality output.
There are a number of good websites on the HDR process, including the oddly named stuckincustoms.

Photomatix for me too.
Apart from the OS and games (MOHAA, various CoDs, etc) it is the only software I have ever paid for.

I've tried Picturenaut, on the plus side, it's free and does not hog resources.
On the minus side, it often would not output an image saying that some of the ones I wanted to treat were too close together. When it did produce images, the results were so far away from the real view it was very noticeable.
I don't know if it was the program, or me not fully understanding HDR (although I thought I did).
