Evening all...

Can I run this one by your folks.

Ive only started using RAW files over the last few weeks. But only today did I notice that I might not!!!

When I am finished editing my photos in Lightroom 3 (DNG FILES BY THE WAY) and export them into a folder, when I go to view them and check the properties its says its a JPEG???

Have I been working on DNG RAW Files for the last few months only to downgrade them back to jpeg unknowingly?

Are there any other members out there interested in this new lens?

When I was first starting out taking my nature shots I was told that I had bought a poor camera for the task. Canon or Nikon are always named as the best for the job because of the options in glass etc.

I am facing a really tough decision at the moment whether to stick it out for the 560 with my K-x or change to Canon and get there fantastic 400mm 5.6 lens.

Does anyone have any doubts about this new lens and will it be affordable for someone who is finding it harder every month!

Im a 150 500 shooter and have also used the 50 500 as well. I didnt detect any difference especially at the long end.

Please look at my photos on Flickr - I've even done macro with it!

Sorry to digress on the colours front but which camera would be good for someone interested in wildlife photography - particularly birds? Surely the K-5 is still a great contender focus issues aside?

Reading a lot of the previous comments I think we all need to calm down and wait and see what the actual hands on reviews are like

I only own the K-x (only used the K-5 once)and have been more than blown away by peoples comments of bird photos "that must be with a 7D" etc. I really think its the best camera I have ever used and will def be holding onto it when i upgrade to the k-5 or k-30.

I also agree with the previous comments on the K-r - a seriously good camera and handles like a dream.

excellent dave thats good to hear and thank you Milamber

I dont know about ball heads and all that so I think i will opt for this 3 way head deal.

So the 283 tripod and 3 way tilt - is this good enough sorry to ask again its just a lot of money for someone who doesnt have it

Thanks guys great help!

I just took delivery today of another tripod. It cost £25 and its about as good as a handbrake in a canoe.

My K-x mounted with Sigma 150 500 is super wobbly and the camera keeps falling over front and back end.

This is the second tripod I am sending back and am really beginning to despair. I simply dont like using them BUT I WANT to try and get used to them for bird photography.

Can someone please recommend me a decent tripod that will take my siggy under 100 notes?

Cheers in advance!
