I would like to get the K10D (or the 'upgrade') and the 16-50
I sold a camera today. It was a concession to the GF that if I sold a camera I could buy a K10D and survive. She's a Canon user, who believes in the TINA principle, 'there is no alternative', and thinks I should ditch Pentax for the dark side, Canon (bit like going from Saab to BMW)....

D40x was a surprise
E-410 and E-510 were surprises...
Who knows what Pentax might reveal....
I guess a 10MP camera to bridge between K100 and K10
But I hope for a 12-14 MP K1, even more refined than the K10, with dual card slots

Have you downloaded the latest versions of Photo Browser and Laboratory from the internet? They are on the japanse pentax site.

Coverage of the new DA* lenses, if they cover an image size not much bigger than APS-C, then there is unlikely to be a camera with the same chip size as the 1D Mk2/3... so no benefit.....
I guess that the race will 'plateau' at 10-12 MP.... with more emphasis on image quality from each pixel.....
In the jump from 10D to 400D (6 -> 10 MP) there really hasn't been a significant jump in quality....

The K10D has really only been out since December. That is only over four months ago. It is a new camera...
The K10D might have only hit the shelves in December, it was announced in September, but the camera itself when it had no name was previewed at shows last February.....
