Simply and incontrovertibly stunning, Andrew:!: Even before clicking on the 'preview', and learning that it was from your increasingly mighty 'oeuvre' of works, the words 'Oh Wow!' had emanated unbidden from my lips. Expensive bodies and lenses cannot compensate for a lack of 'artistic vision'; something that need not concern you and that I can only hope one day to emulate to some small degr ...

Just 'works' on so many levels: one to be proud of and shared with others who understand the difference between taking 'snaps' and photographs that have broad appeal 8). Jon:wink:

Gary, I see you've edited the Exif data to conceal the fact that this was captured with the increasingly difficult to find Pentax Sprat  Looking forward to something I can actually find fault with in 2011. Jon:wink:

Superb composition and masterful use of light have become the hallmark of your oeuvre, Gary. In this fine example, I particularly like the way you have captured the piercing quality of the subject's eyes:twisted: Jon:wink:

Fabulous use of DOF to isolate the subject from the background BUT, its still too small for me fully appreciate the beautiful pipit and the finer detailsof its plumage:( Have you uploaded to a Flickr account or similar where I might see a larger image:?: Some information as to where you spotted the LBJ (little brown jobbie) would also be appreciated. Best wishes and congratulations on ...

Noel, I may be a little out of my depth here, but IMO what you have 'captured' so sucessfully is, as Nezih and Larry have already suggested, a Trout (Brown). Wild Brown Trout are certainly present in the Wye at that location and they do show considerable variation in body colouration and markings. This, coupled with the unusual viewpoint, makes its identity less obvious than one might think ...

Gary, This time you've stooped so low as bypass even limbo dancer territory! As soon as I saw the image I knew I'd seen it before. After few hours spent musing in my favourite armchair over a cup of cocoa with a pre-mashed Hobnob, I get bits under the pallet of my false teeth otherwise, it came to me and 5 minutes on the web confirmed my suspicions: what you have uploaded is not your own wor ...

And I thought it was Gabor Snr who was the talented, in photographic terms, member of the family:!: Better make sure you produce a few 'duff shots' from time-to-time; otherwise he'll do something sneaky whilst your sleeping: like replacing the internal elements of your favourite lens with the glass from an empty Tokaji bottle:mrgreen: You have the makings of a very talented photographer:P ...
