For me the possibilities to tinker around with shots until you get what you envisage when looking through the viewfinder (or until you arrive at something totally unexpected that you like) is the leap forward from the film era. I bet I would have loved tinkering in the real darkroom but I never had a chance. It does make a huge difference.

I was happy with my old *istD, it did all I needed. At 6 MPixel the images were big enough to be printed in 50 x 75 cm (with some upscaling).
So why did I get the K20 then?
It came down to shake reduction (I really saw that as a big advantage) first and foremost. Ok, I thought that after 5 years the technology has moved on a bit and I would get more dynamic range and lower noise on high ISO shots as well (and this I certainly got with the K20).
And, of course, this only is the rational side of the story. Figure in the "I want one" factor and you got the reason why I got it.

p.s. Would go there now if I didn't get ENGAGED on thursday and won't have money for petrol or food for the next 6 months.
Man, love does make blind.
No, seriously, congratulations. SRS or getting engaged, sound like a no brainer to me.

Don't worry, this forum is one of the least 'cliquey' ones I've seen. They even tolerate continental Europeans here, would you believe.
Maybe it's just 'bad luck' on kacsoisti's part that he/she won on the first entry. On the second entry he/she would have had a history already. As Daniel wrote, if kacsoisti doesn't return in good time the next one on the list will take over this weeks competition. No big deal.
So sit back, relax and enjoy the forum.

In this case, though, the person has only just joined the forum when submitting the pic and hasn't looked in the forum since. The competition entry was the only contribution so far.
I think once judged it's settled (and there are no prices to quarrel about). I fear, however, that Darkmunk will have to do the homework after all in spite of coming second... (but he got the highest ranked Pentax entry )
Maybe we should wait another day if kacsoisti does stop by and sets the next competition.

Do you have any idea what the amount of 5 px can do on the impact of a panorama?
Mine looks so small, i almost wanted to delete it.
(And if I couldn't the fact that you didn't see it anymore to delete it because it is so tiny would convince me.)
