Was this when they did everything in house and before they farmed out all their repairs to another company?
Yes I dealt with Pentax directely although Samsung did contract the repair to another firm. Even so that firm were very helpful and did not take long to do the clean and return the camera.

Beautiful picture! Can you remember the settings (aperture)? I don't have an M 50 1.7 unfortunately, only an A 50 mm 1.7, which I don't use often enough.

It's the WR feature that led me to use the 18-55mm and 50-200mm lenses in Paris a few days ago. If you see my image of Montmartre in the rain, it made those lenses a very good choice!
I have the Sigma 17/70 but have been thinking of purchasing the 18/55 wr do you think there would be ant benifit in purchasing it. I also have both the Pentax mk 1 and Samsung version, but Im not at all sure Samsung upgraded there lens as Pentax did on the K 20 I have the GX 20 hence the question.

What about after sales support? That seems to have been a factor in some cases reading on this site.
Cant knock Pentax here either my first K100 D was faulty sent it back for repair and when the camera was sent back they had replaced it with a brand new model and no more than a two week turn around. Also my Samsung GX 20 showed signs of dust they sent it to there lab and again the camera was back with me inside 2 weeks pretty impressed by both after sales service teams.

Quick Shift is the feature on most Pentax DA lenses that enables a manual focus tweak after the AF has locked, without having to switch anything into manual focus. It's especially useful in close up and macro work.
I realy did not know of this thanks John and Stefan I will try this out for myself soon.
