and after 16-50?

i just bought monday an 16-50 da*, but i'm already dreaming about new lens,
at this time i;ve only the 16-50 18 55 wr and smc 50 m1.7,
i think to sell the 18-55 cause i use the star.
the problem is:
which lens after 16-50?
i'd like buy a focal lens more long, i don't care if it will be zoom or prime,
i like take portrait and street, i saw many shot with long tele very nice..i love this kind of dof, and i like lens with nice boken, so what can you suggestion??
i handled just for few shot the 50 135.. the af is not fast.
i saw some shot with 100wr macro and other for insect and flowers is amazing with people as well!

i need the tropicalization like star and wr series.

If the DA* 16-50mm is your sort of thing and you want a companion for it, the glaringly obvious choice is the DA* 50-135mm.

I have the non-WR version of the DFA 100 Macro - I love the bokeh on it (the WR has 9-bladed aperture so its will be any better) and it is generally an all-round great lens. However as a macro lens, its AF will be much slower than the DA*50-135's as well as noisier.

Actually no .. don't forget the 50-135mm is SDM

The only lens I own that is slower to AF than the 50-135mm is the DA* 55mm f1.4.

Actually the rounded blade does nothing concerning the Bokeh but it does make the highlight circle of confusions rounder if not shooting wide open.

If you want WR then your only options are
DA*55 f/1.4
DA*50-135 f/2.8
DA*60-250 f/4
DA50-200 WR
DFA100 f2.8 WR

Off these lenses I would indeed suggest the DA*50-135 as the best one for what you want to do, because of the focal length and the f/2.8. The AF is slow because you have a longer focus throw meaning easier manual focus. I have the DFA100 and used it for portrait before I got the DA* but it's simply too long sometimes, a shorter lens like the DA70 or FA77 would be better.
Some members here have had the DA*50-135 and the DA*60-250 so they can give you a good comparison.

If you don't need WR then these are good options.
DA70 limited
FA77 limited
Sigma 50-150 f/2.8

Image quality of the 50/135 is superb!.....great for "zooming " in on people!.....

Without getting into pedantics as to what is or is not bokeh, the way the DFA100wr handles out of focus areas is quite different to the non wr.

Really? I know SDM lenses are slower than screw drive, but with the DFA100's tendency to hunt from 1:1 to infinity I'd assumed it was the slowest.

Oggy, those two flower photos actually are from your link.

If you mean the difference is visible with those led lamps then you're indeed right but the bokeh is the same even with those shots because the DFA100 has enough blades already so only the shape of the CoC is different and sadly that helps only a little bit with rendering the out of focus area better.
Only when you've highlights like those led lamps you might favour the WR photo for normal shots like the flower photos you need to look very good at full size to spot slight differences.

Not to talk the DFA100 WR down, I would love one for the build quality alone but if you already have a DFA100 I don't think it's worth the upgrade for the rounded blades alone.

Maybe it just seems so as there is no noise when focusing but I always found it very slow .. fantastic lens and brilliant IQ ... but slowwww.
