The great North East.

It would be nice to make contact with anyone for meets around the Durham / Tyneside area. Even in a pub for chat would do me as my family thinks I'm crackers and my pictures are stupid.

Why on earth would I take a picture of someone if I didn't even know them?

The whole of the North East group went along to the quays today to see the tall ships event. It was very crowded and dificult to shoot at times but a great day was had by all.

NE group numbers are now up to one, me. I had a nice day...LOL

Just to let you know you're not alone. I'm a K100d owner based in North Tyneside and my wife doesn't really understand my hobby.

- Why did I buy the Pentax when I had a perfectly good bridge camera?
- Why do I bother taking photos that I then need to spend time adjusting on the computer?
- etc

My real trouble is finding time to fit in photography around the rest of everyday life - there are always things that ought to be prioritised ahead of hobby time.

Being realistic, I'd never get round to regular meetings in any sort of hobby group. However, if the rest of the North East Group fancies a one off meeting at some point, I should be able to negotiate a pass.

Im often out and about around the Nort East shooting pic's drop me a PM when your in Durham or were ever.

There is an Air display at Sunderland next saturday/ sunday I hope to be at the saturday one. Will look our for other pentax users there.

I live in Durham and I'm a member of Durham Photographic Society where we have a lot of VERY enthusiastic snappers. There is a handful of us who use Pentax and we're very brand loyal, the rest of them are promiscuous, sleeping around with Canon, Nikon and other lesser makes.
My own recent photo expeditions have taken me a lot to Tyneside which is just up the road from Durham. The Newcastle/Gateshead Quayside is a vibrant place for photography and I have found inspiration at the Northumbria University Campus and Tanfield Railway. Further afield I've twice recently been to Salford Quays in Manchester, to the Whitby Goths Festival and to various other locations.

I live in Amble, Northumberland. Plenty of good fish & chips if you’re up this way!!!! I'm a struggling Pentax K10D user still finding my feet, usually found wandering somewhere in the wilderness in the hope of eventually taking something passable.

Always thought that the "great north east" of UK was Grampian region? Sorry for being a bit pedantic.

OK loon! I lived 10 years near Elgin so understand. anything top-right does it for me.

Any one going to the sunderland air show this year would be nice to meet some of you.
