Found the problem, Bob you hit the nail on the head, the battery was a little low on juice. Why is it always the simple things that you miss, I feel a right donk now..

USB is set to PC, just recharging the battries and trying that again, keeping my fingers crossed.

Yes it has worked fine before, tryed it on my laptop and pc both do the same thing, may get a new cable and see if thats the problem.

Thats the problem, it not showing as anorther drive like it normally does if I'm useing the data cable. This one has me confused.com...... seen as the camera is telling me it's connected to a pc but not showing as anorther drive like normal is odd.

I can't transfer my pictures via the data cable, my camera shows it's connect to a PC but wont do anything else. If I remove the memory card and transfer that way it works fine. Has anybody else ever had this problem? If so what was the problem?

Well here in the West of Wales we've got about 16". Loads of roads are closed, while I was on shift last night we had in the region of 270 car and lorry accidents and we're only trying to use the police 4x4's to deal with them.
