Been twice... but 'Never Again!'

Is this really how the future's meant to feel? Or just 20,000 people standing in a field...

Remember that tubes without electrical contacts will not allow your current lenses to be stopped down. You'll need a lens with an aperture ring! Good excuse to buy a 50mm MF lens...

This is not beyond the realms of possibility, as I remember, this has been done before with certain pentax models. I suspect, it was more to do with the current situation that Jessops was in that prompted Pentax to go for a wider distribution of the model then limiting it to a store chain on the down.
Indeed - Jessops was the only retailer selling my old camera - the istDL2. It was marketed as a 'Jessops Exclusive'...

I'd be more worried about fungus! Do you take any precautions?
The issue has crossed my mind a few times! I keep my kit stowed in its bag, and hopefully use it often enough to make sure it stays 'fresh'. Touch wood, no problems so far and I have been aboard for over 4 years.

Unless you were commenting on my personal hygiene?

So if you are someone who likes grain in your B&W like me (I know that probably makes me odd) then it should be enabled?
I think they key is to experiment... these things are down to user preference at the end of the day. It probably does increase noise a bit, but not heinously so... even so I personally would only use it if you know the shot is problematic.

I like grainy black and white too, but I don't like splodgy, coloured noise in my photos!

Prieni - you did not take any shots with D-Range disabled, so it's inconclusive whether you would have been able to retrieve the same amount in your Raw Converter! I have a hunch you would have done, as I have had sucess at retrieving blown highlights simply using Raw Shooter Essentials.

Great- thanks!

In 35mm film terms, think of it as automatically 'push processing' the dark areas while leaving the highlights as they are so they don't burn out.

You can do the same thing with more control in a RAW converter or even in PS.

I would also be interested in specialised insurance... I live in a narrowboat, and unfortunately my boat insurance doesn't cover photography gear - as I discovered recently!

Was going to ask if it was HDR, as it has that sort of 'glow' about it, yet the upper part of the steeple is slightly darkened, suggesting an ND grad.

I'd be interested to know where the waterfall pic was taken. I like the shot although perhaps a little dodge and burn might give it more impact... and maybe crop in a little tighter too.
