They are lovely pictures especially like the last one. You appear to be doing really well

Have tried cropping the stamen picture a little tighter not sure it works as well though

I decided I needed to cheer mysef up after a particularly unsuccessful stint with the 50mm lens and so went back to my Sigma 105mm Macro. I like these they are different to my usual insects. The 2 Lillies were taken last night after arain shower and the passion flower this morning

I have been told to try out some landscapes with this lens and the 200mm. So here goes. I am not a fan of taking landscapes.
No the horizon isn't crooked the picure are on a slope.

Please excuse my ignorance, I use my long lens for wildlife and my macro for proper macro. What should the 50mm lens be used for? Maybe I am trying to expand my repertoire too much. It must be the lens as I am just back from my opticians and he says its not my contact lens despite having astigmatism in my right eye. So I guess that is good news

Am I correct in thinking that when using a manual lens, if you set the aperture and iso the camera will set the shutter speed? Also, isn't AV the only one I can use, I sure that the book says that is you allow aperture ring the camera will operate in AV whatever you set it to.

Sorry but this will be my last attempt with this lens. I have found the pressure of trying to get a good shot is taking all the fun out of it. I know that if I managed it I would be elated but don't actually believe that will happen.

Andy don't be sorry. Unfortunately, I am limited in what I shot as shots landscapes of buildings and don't do anything for me. To be honest until recently I would I thought flower pictures where something I would never take either. Thats my point Andy I am not learning even with all the advise. So time to stop.
