Test Shots SMC Pentax-A 1:2 50mm Lens

I have just received this lens and tried it out. Its a bit windy again in the garden buwould still like some CC please.

IMO 1 is underexposed but I think would be ok brightened up.
2 Looks OOF prob due to your wind.

Is this one any better. I have adjusted the curves, removed noise and cropped.

Yes OK, just getting a bit demoralised with trying to master anything ther than wildlife. Might just go back to once a year photography

Yes thats alot better, least I think it is. Again its OOF but looks like ure PP is getting allot better!

Dont get diss heartened about it, Macro I think is probably one of the hardest forms of photography. Its all about the little details and ime still struggling with it!
Can get very frustrating at times (dont know if you've seen my wasp nest in portfolio?)
But we must perceiver and conquer
I think your problems are here not enough light, and also the wind. Its hard to shoot a moving subject unless you have a fast speed and you need more light to reach that speed.
Maby a Flash would help? I dont know. Need some advice of the masters really!
But dont give up!!

Sorry to say but all out of focus or camera shake, have you tried a tripod, here is one I took today with the 35-70 zoom macro lens, I have noticed a lot of your shots are out of focus, there could be a problem with your camera,

I didn't think I was using a macro lens, just a 50mm. So if I am wrong it shows what I know.

Its not the camera its my ability.

Had already decided before I posted these images that if they didn't work I would call it a day on this sort of photgraphy as I don't appear to be learning from all the consructive comments and obviously am not up to it. I will stick to the easy stuff - wildlife in AF and leave the tricky stuff to the experts.

I assumed you were macroing due to the nature of the shots.
Maby lens choice is partly to blame?

Ne ways like scott says Practise makes perfect dont give up and dont loose confidence in ureself.

If we dont make mistakes we dont learn.

No No don't give up it took me ages to get mine as good, you just have to practice and experiment, it will come, I'm still practicing with different lenses and you have the Sigma 105mm stick to that one for your macro shots and just keep trying.

Andy don't be sorry. Unfortunately, I am limited in what I shot as shots landscapes of buildings and don't do anything for me. To be honest until recently I would I thought flower pictures where something I would never take either. Thats my point Andy I am not learning even with all the advise. So time to stop.

I have the same lens I use on a DS. If you are using the standard Pentax screen, it can be difficult to get the focus tack sharp for some folks.
The green " in-focus " light is not 100% accurate when focusing manually. It can be showing green, but be slightly out of focus.
That is why I installed split screens in all my camera bodies.

Don't give up, practice and contemplate.

Ive found the possibilities are endless! Look at amins smoke/bubble shots!

Keep practising with different things.

I think everyone here is in agreement with one thing and that is not to give up on it!

You obviously enjoy it, So dont give up on it. Frustrating as it often is!!

Janette look at it this way , if a man asks a 100 women a day to make love to him there is always one who will say yes, so take 100 photos a day and there will always be one good one, the photos I showed you was the best one's of about 30 photos, so don't give up we all look forward to what you have to show,
