Pentax have said that initially they are not making any adapters for other lenses, but "Are considering it".
Now the sensor has a crop ratio of 5.46 over a 35mm, so taking that into account, imagine using one of the Sigma "Bigmas", therefore the 170-500, 150-500 or the 50-500. You would get an effective focal length of 2730mm! and with a x2 converter 5460mm!!!!!!!!
Perfect for birding would you say?
Actually if you are really flush and get the Sigma 300-800 you could get a 4368mm and with the x2 and 8736mm!!!
If Pentax do make a converter for the K-mount, I might be very interested.......

Its also a stunning Portrait lens too, and very sharp.
Enjoy.

Least used - Osawa 200mm F4 - Its not a bad lens, but manual and only used it very occasionally

1. Creative use of DOF.
2. On the whole the vast majority of lenses only get sharp (or the sweet spot) when stopped down a couple of F-stops. So, the faster the lens, the faster the aperture for that sweet spot. So you could go back to point 1. Fast aperture, shallow DOF, pin sharp! Love it!

I still want the Limiteds, but they are a desire rather than a need at the moment.

Therefore my ideal DA prime lens for the APS-C sensor would have to be a 28mm, but it doesn't exist! I have a 28mm A lens which is great with the digital bodies and an FA version is available too but they are only f2.8.
However I do like my DA35 F2.4. Cheap, plastic, and yet so sharp with great Bokeh. Its a great compromise focal length lens.

As DA lenses don't have an aperture ring, it will mean that these lenses will be stopped down in operation
But with any k-mount lens with the ring (K, M, A, F, FA) can be used with the adapter.

Oh, hold on, its called a Ricoh GX200..........
Seriously
The Pentax i-10 is not the best compact in the world, yet its more than adequate. But the way it looks is soo seductive that you actually enjoy using it. I know, I have one.

I am sure if the adapter provides the correct focal plane for the lens type (so a rather large adapter for K-mount) I am sure that it will work. And as a plus, the sensor will only use the very centre of the lens, so in theory should be as sharp as a tack without any sharpness fall off whatsoever.
But like you say, we shall see.
