Might add I have just bought a replacement 300mm lens hood from SRS but did not notice the K3 price drop until afterwards. If I had of noticed it would have been purchased from Wex Photographic whom I will probably look to firstly for my needs in future
Maybe you should have contacted the retailer and had a nice calm word rather than this route.

I am sure most would offer something, even though they might not be fully supported by the supplier.

A reaction like this is not good as you have to accept that prices do change.

Also, looking around, it seems that the K3 has not actually changed SSP. Probably just a number of dealers moving stock for year end.

The k3 is now listed at £899 at SRS

Big disappointment for me as I spoke to them on Saturday and in trying to get a lower price than the £978 they took £80 off for no free 35mm lens ... means if I`d waited 2 days I would have got one even cheaper. Bought a Grip as well with the camera. Pity they couldn't tell me on Saturday the prices would be dropping. Did they know? ... sure they must of had an idea.

Still good news for Pentax K3 buyers
Well, this morning I filled my 65 litre tank will diesel at a substantial cost.
On driving past this evening, I noticed the price had gone up 1p per litre.
Feeling like I had cheated them out of much needed profit.......I pulled over and went in to the garage and offered them the 65p.

Also, last week, when doing my "big shop", I noticed that my usual bread was not on offer, as it was the week before.
When paying the £112.39 for my trolley full, I mentioned to the polite young lady that I feel I owe them 49p as the bread I bought only 6 days earlier had gone up........

Let's face it......if the k3 had gone up this week, would you have contacted the retailer to offer them the extra???

Real world.....prices go up as well as down....you choose when to buy.

I've long lost track of who owns what with regard to pro dealers.
There used to be Hargreaves in Liverpool who merged with
Keith, Johnson and Pelling which was already a merger of
Keith Johnson and Pelling + Cross the new firm was
Hargreaves KJP. They later merged with Calumet and were
called Calumet KJP for a while. The Liverpool branch moved from
Bootle to Liverpool Docks, but that is no longer there
probably closed about 2 years ago. They did stock Pentax.

Bob Rigby used to be a manager of Pelling + Cross in Manchester
and he started up on his own. The business is still going but
Bob will be well retired by now.

Bob Rigby is still working, in the lovely village of Bollington.
Also has 2-3 guys working there.
Mainly aimed at PRO's.
I saw Bob there only a couple of weeks ago....

The only way to bring prices down is to stop buying, they will soon figure out why.
But i can`t see that ever happening in this country.
I bet the price of the K3 from the factory is around £100/125.
Cheers
Dave
Please ask yourself what is the K3 body made of??
Magnesium Alloy......
The cost of producing this alone will be high. It is hard to work with at this level.
The actual cost from factory will be triple that, easily!.
Some of the Canikon will cost nothing to make. But K3,
Glass Prism.
Magnesium.
Moving sensor array.
Sealing.
the list goes on............
People always moan about the cost of CE goods....They are sooooooooooo cheap.
When I get brassed off about the cost of stuff this is what I always think about...
Beer v Petrol.

This about the processes and vast expense needed to get fuel to the forecourt.......Then compare with BEER......now, compared to beer, everything seems cheap as chips.....

but if you factor in a repair from JPS and the potential vat and duty fees and balance it against UK prices I think it still works out cheaper. As I have said before I have never paid more than £125 for a body repair and in owning 8 or 9 Pentax bodies I have only needed two repairs out of warranty and one inside warranty period. To have to pay duty and get a faulty body is damned unlucky....
Your probably correct.
And as we all know getting evertything cheaper is how we grow support in the UK and encourage investment from the brand!
Everything is "cheaper" somewhere if you look.
There is usually a reason too!
I never buy the cheapest of anything, not even fuel!
How many here drive an extra 10 miles to save 0.3p per litre!!!????
Buy UK product then suppliers can invest in UK infrastructure.
SIMPLES!!

Well, I have already told you about my bad experience and ongoing issues with these guys.
I DID have to pay extra even though the parcel was under declared.
Now have issues with a faulty product that they do not want to know about.

I will never buy from these, or any other company not based in the UK.

Virtually everything costs more here, we know that.
Hell, I even pay less for single malt whiskey half way round the world!!!

If we all support our dealers, then Ricoh UK will also.

Hi all
I bought a lens off these guys at SLR Hut and it tuned out to be faulty.
This was 9 months ago.............I am now spending money on going legal!
I would not touch them with a barge pole!!!
This was the my first time buying off a GREY retailer, and never again.
Also the parcel was under declared as it showed a value of $23.!!
I have since purchased the 100mm macro from a UK retailer..
Also, it would not be covered in any way by Pentax UK. A repair if one was needed would be carried out by a NON Authorised repairer.
Pentax UK told me that this retailer will not be supported as they do not trade with them.
Support our retailers......not the yankee dollar!!!!

Hi
I have tried my K3 with my O-RC1 remote.
It works perfectly, doesn't miss a shot.
Front and back.
Even works from the side.....
Hope this helps.
