Able to look at picture simply as a good composition or interesting subject , without having to disect the minutiae of the noise, sharpness etc etc . It seems looking round other the forums perfect exposure is the be all and end all of photography.

I've loved and still do love all forms of art, from architecture to photographs (not photography you see) since I was a small boy, but whether the picture is perfect never crosses my mind, this is because it's the subject matter that counts, if I like the image that's good enough for me, I have no desire the dissect the work/image to see if it improves my feelings. My favourite photographer is Tim Page, techically is work is probably not perfect, but it's his images that provoke emotion and thought in me, which is why I like his work so much.

Hi All

Just a quick question regarding the above, I've just recently purchased the M 200 f4 and was looking to compliment it with it's smaller brother. The problem seems to be varied reports of the 135mm, some say it's barely OK but others think it's fantastic so I'm unsure as to whether to go ahead and buy one.

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Congratulations to the top three for varied and interesting pictures, well done all.

After reviewing Hefty's comments regarding my own entry, I have to agree that the border was an unnecessary addition and is far better without it. Sometimes you need other peoples' viewpoint to make you understand your own composition better.

Hi Hyram

To be honest I'm not sure about this one, being viewed on a small monitor I don't think the size does it justice, if it was about 12' x 4' on a gallery wall I think it would have a stunning effect. Good excuse to buy myself a bigger monitor me thinks. Still interesting and a brave post though.

This is my sort of picture, quirky and off the wall.

If it wasn't for the red bottle it would be nothing.

Nice feel of depth as well.
Thanks for the comment, a man after my own heart, I struggle with normality anyway, you only have to ask the wife.

Cheers guys.

You are not wrong at all there Jack, the kit lens can be underestimated at times in favour of the 16-45 and the newer 17-70; though I've come to the conclusion that I have a very good copy of the kit lens.

Because of this I have'nt really been too interested in a replacement at those focal lengths, though the 17-70 does tempt me.
I really like these, so natural, well done, but as you say the kit lens is often overlooked in favour of something which is believed to be better and in most cases more expensive. Most lenses can out perform our ability anyway. Hurrah for the kit lens as you have kindly shown us.

This picture is one of my favourites but as everyone knows what we like is very much down to the individual. This was taken on holiday at Brancaster Beach, Norfolk with my K200D and M Series 40-80mm Macro, I'm sorry to say I can't remember the settings. I would appreciate comments as I don't really have a reference point, the family as kind as they are always say my piccies look great. Ooops I think my bubble is about to be burst.

46 and no idea how I arrived here in 1 piece, vaguely remember university but that's more to do with my best friend filling in the gaps.
