I've yet to give my M 135mm a run out yet, but from the results of these two pics I think it should be sooner rather than later. Really like the second one but the first I'd probably crop out the gravestone in the background so more emphasis on the followers and straighten it. I agree with Anvh the writing on the gravestone does tend to draw your attention first.

Excellent lens, the majority of my Pentax Photo Gallery shots were taken with the Vivitar version. I normally shoot f8-f16 hand held with flash.

Look forward to seeing some pictures.
Now I've got a clearer picture on what I'm doing, with thanks to you guys of course, hopefully I can post something decent to look at. Thanks for the replies.

It's certainly a hefty well made bit of kit and the reviews I seen of it do suggest it should produce excellent results.

By the way Mike I love your Gallery

Years ago we used to play this at our local, unfortunately after 6 pints of Old Speckled Hen my hand, eye co-ordination went out the window.

Looks at bit fast paced for me I think I'll stick to motorsports

Evening All

On my eternal quest for "THAT" lens I've picked up one of the above, from what I've read they have a very good reputation being made by Kiron I believe, but as always time will tell.

I've been after a true 1:1 macro for ages but my question is; what is the best aperture setting to use the macro at? When having a look at various articles one guy was an advocate of shooting all his macro pics at f11 where as others let the light dictate the aperture, prefering to shoot at the highest speed for sharpness.

Your thoughts as always greatly appreciated.
P.S I've not used it yet.

Alright guys, I'm still sceptical but you are begining to sway me, right then where is my telescope.

I thought I'd post a Hubble picture and to me they both have a similar appearance, but hay, I may be wrong.

I'm going through a manual prime phase at moment, so I will only take the one lens with me. But then again I've never been one for humping tons of stuff around for the sake of it, just like my fishing I will only take what is absoluteIy necessary. I think it's maybe too easy just to reach into your bag and grab another lens instead of working the lens you've got and trying that little bit harder.

I'm not so sure about this, it looks to much like a Hubble picture to me, I maybe wrong but I'm not sure you can extract all that info from the pic like he describes.
