Ripon Cathedral - brilliant shot - looks like you did a HDR? Anyway I love the colour and light!

I usually use a very shallow DOF. Make eye contact and shot all you can while you have the chance.

You need patience - you will not have the best result in 5 mins. It takes time to find the right moment.

I try to use my flash mostly - as it gives me the best result (same result). Lately I have been using my hotshoe softbox form lastloite quite a lot. Gives very good and even lightning.

One other good thing with flash is the catch light in the eyes.

Happy shooting. Remember to ask for permission to use the shots on your webpage

The second is a cracker. How much did you crop it? I really need to try to get some waterdrops myself. Reminds me of one of Martins(Malo) shot. One he had in a competetion some time back....

Not the best orchid shot. A bit flat - dull light. Perhaps to much noise for my taste as well.

What was the settings for the shot. Agree with Terje, you need sharpness in this one.

I'm amazed by the clarity in the crops. Seems like a stunning lens! Well done.

# 3 for me as well - Bokeh is great. What lens is used in this shot? Is it the 100-300mm?

The leaf...is just like a signature pricture from you. Very well done. I love this set.

Forest window is an excellent idea and composed wisely.

I have done a bit of wedding shots lately.

My gear is this:

K10D (I need a second body)
DA* 50-135
Sigma 28-70 EX f.28
Flash - pentax 540
2 spare batteries for the body
Eneloop batteries for the flash (plenty!!)
I use 8*2GB cards.

Only shoot raw.

You need to know how to bounce and use the flash if you want to get good shots inside.

Ask at the church if you are allowed to shoot inside at all. Some places you are not allowed (at least here in DK).

I have done some official shots with a softbox and flash kit as well. But not on regular basis.

Every time I have had my other gear and lenses in the car - but never used it.

Best of luck...

(and best advice from me - learn how to shot moving people that are coming towards you.....You really want a pin sharp shot from inside the church when this bride is walking in and when they are walking out again.)

I use a mix of Cokin P and Kood P-filters. (Cokin filter holder and cap)

I have not yet seen any difference from a Cokin or Kood grad filter. But on the other hand - I have not used them as much as I wanted.

But from a couple of hundred shots I have not seen anything to comment on. (I have 3 kood grads and 2 cokin grads)

I like the filter holder system as you can use several filters. So far I have played a lot with a polariser(circular) with 2 ND or ND grads. Great fun!

Hope it helps a bit.
