Now you're getting interesting!
They are as ever all good. The ones that really perk my interest are Nos 4 through to 9. Love the tighter crop, shapes and forms described in No.8.
The whole set is right up my street so to speak.
I'll send you out into the wilderness again.

Welcome John. How do you find the IR converted K7 and where did you get it converted? I have a K7 that no one wants, perhaps an IR conversion would get it out of the cupboard more often.

They capture the sense of the lonely vigil.

He has created some interesting compositions and his low point of view really adds another dimension to the photographs. Lovely that he is enjoying photography and starting to make considered compositions.

Pentax-DA 18-135mm
I was thinking offers in the region of £200 for the lens. Collection free, delivery by agreement.
I've owned it from new. It came with a camera so no box but if posted it would be well wrapped. The only blemish I can see is a small scuff on the lens cap which can be seen in the photographs.
Lens works exactly as it should but since getting the 16-85mm it has been sitting on a shelf. All glass clean, clear and blemish free.

I have the K-S2 and am very happy with it.
To be honest I'd recommend getting the one you can get the best deal on. Either will be great for your needs from the sounds of your brief.

I view Contre-jour as shooting into the light. It is usually about the back illumination of a subject matter, which is what I had in my mind, could be trees, a landscape, people any object. On that bases seeing the light source and having sunstars is not a problem but the image should have back illuminated interest.

Contre-jour

Contre-jour is a photographic technique in which the camera is pointing directly toward a source of light. Contre-jour produces backlighting of the subject. This effects usually hides details, causes a stronger contrast between light and dark, creates silhouettes and emphasizes lines and shapes. The sun, or other light source, is often seen as either a bright spot or as a strong glare behind the subject. Fill light may be used to illuminate the side of the subject facing toward the camera. Silhouetting occurs when there is a lighting ratio of 16:1 or more; at lower ratios such as 8:1 the result is instead called low-key lighting.

I hope this helps and please do enter, I am open to broad interpretations
